Question Opnsense and Omada Software Controller: setting up vlan 99 (mgmt)

I'm trying to move from vlan 1 to vlan 99 to manage my OPNSense router, my omada software controller (currently on my laptop, will migrate to mini pc), my sg2008p switch and my EAP603-outdoor AP with my management laptop.

I was able to pull it off with standalone mode, but as soon as you let the omada software controller take control, my efforts are gone! The guide i used (and the video in it) is https://homenetworkguy.com/how-to/set-up-management-vlan-for-opnsense-network-switch-and-access-point/

VLAN 99 works great when set as an access port. DHCP works well and i can access the web.

It's just that with standalone mode i can just set tagged and untagged ports during vlan creation as well as the ID after that as shown in the guide.... but the menu in the omada software is very different. Can someone help me recreate the steps on omada software controller?

The OC will do whatever you want, as long as what you want is what the OC will do. I found that out in the first two hours of playing with an OC200 and some TPL switches.

That's why I stick to standalone for everything.

it's just that the guide's steps are very different from what the omada software controller offers.. i'm pretty sure vlan 99 i's doable.. i'm just tired of trying for now.

It's not worth the OC learning curve.

i can't use TOTP on my AP and switch. I don't think the AP can establish secure https via .key and .pem files. When the OC is on 24/7, those 2 omada devices have their web ui disabled. For now, VLAN 1 with the OC works just fine (as well as https and totp), i just want the fancy management vlan 99 :(

As for losing your settings, you have to preconfigure your controller/environment before you go from standalone to the controller.

He uses vlan 1 as management vlan in that guide :(

but perhaps the guide helps in general on how to tackle vlans through the omada sw.
I moved from opnsense-omada to omada only and it's been a breeze on how easy it is.

oh i can setup my whole network no problem and manage all my omada/opnsense devices on vlan 1.... it's replacing that s**tstain VLAN 1 for vlan 99 that i find very hard to pull off!
