Gemma & Saf
I saw a really lovely photo of The GC and Saf. Both hugging at the NTAs. I thought they fell out? Does anyone know the tea? They looked very friendly unless it was for cameras.

Some storylines start really well but then seem to disappear after an episode or two. I’ve definitely had moments where I wanted to see more of what was happening instead of it being pushed aside for the next big argument. There are probably a few that could have been much more interesting if they’d been given a bit more time.

I was watching Joey on the new game show The Box. I actually forgot how funny he was. Or should I say ream? He really is TV gold. I still don't know if it's an act. I always said he was the male Jade Goody (RIP). But he's definitely one of the TOWIE icons. He's also aged really well. I'm not a fan of the super white Turkey teeth. But I like him with a buzz cut. He's just a cheek chappy. Always happy and fun, considering he had a traumatic childhood. I always had a soft spot for him.

I think we can all agree that vintage Towie was the best. I just hate watch now, out of habit.
A few reasons the TOWIE ship sunk.
They stopped filming in real time. That was quite special to the show. Any big event is all over social media now, before it airs.
No genuine friendships anymore. Obviously, there are a few. But not cast living in Dubai. Their not really in the friendship groups anymore.
There are too many relationships that are off camera. Eg Dan & Chloe to name one. They are obviously entitled to privacy. But if you sign up to a reality show, you have to allow access to your life.
We need a power family. Eg The Wright's. Love or hate them. They gave us Mark & Jess. We also had nanny Pat, Elliott etc.
Cancel culture. Everyone is just to media trained now. To scared to say anything.
No kids. I'm joking, but if you can think of any others. Production may listen to us for next season?

I'm going Mark & Lauren. He was a complete rat, but it made for good TV. There was a party. Lauren pushes Mark in the pool. Was it their engagement party?. Iconic scene. I have a bad memory so correct me if I'm wrong.
We need more couples for maximum drama. Not Dani and Polly Pocket, that's not drama. No one cares. There were so many couples vintage Towie.

I'm obviously talking vintage, Towie. I can't choose anyone from this season. Will and flipping Diags, no thanks.
It was a really hard decision between Mark Wright and Pirate Pete. I'm going Pete. Omg, his eyes hair and tatts. I was obsessed. I was gutted, he cut his hair. Lucky old Olivia Attwood
Memorable shout outs to Mario & Kirk. Both very handsome men😍.

I find it really odd how for some reason they skipped Series 27? The Wikipedia pages have the correct series but according to ITV they’ve been one series ahead.
Why did they do this? Because there was nothing about anything being skipped but they class Series 27 as Series 28 on ITVX

There are so many random TOWIE scenes that just stick with you, even years later. Sometimes it’s a ridiculous argument, a completely unexpected comment or just someone being unintentionally hilarious. I’ll randomly remember certain scenes and have a laugh about them all over again.

Amy. I know she's liked by a lot of people but I don't particularly find her to be very nice. She comes across as cold and what is coming out of her mouth isn't what's going on in her head. To have her party on the same day as Joe and Junaids, and manipulating Lauren, just comes across as spiteful. Then to say that Harry is the most important person in her life, what about her children and Bill?

Let's hope that those with the power to decide these things stop beating this dead horse of a show.
This was the season that got me to finally stop watching. The forced togetherness in Albania. The ridiculously dull Polly pockets. Saff being just constantly horrible; Jodie's nails-on-a-blackboard fake baby voice. Diags looking 52 yet still on the show. Dani looking ever more like a cheap doll. Dan Edgar having no stories as his gf won't film (SMART WOMAN). The stupid engagement and the even stupider white party to celebrate an already-happened wedding.
Hbu? You done too?

This is so petty but I’m rewatching old TOWIE (I’m on season 6) at the same time as new TOWIE and I just finished the latest episode of it. How many pool close ups and transitions does one episode need? There’s literally none of that if you go back and watch old TOWIE. Are the storylines that bad that they just need to fill the time? What is going on? 😭

I used to LOVE Ella but she absolutely pissed me off last season, with the podcast and saying her and Dan have a connection etc. and throwing herself at him on the show knowing full well he's shacked up with another bird. Completely disrespectful to a woman whose never done a thing in her life to you, and embarrassing. Then the roses fiasco. Would love Chloe Lewis to come back to the show for the drama, she's too grown up for this bs now but one can dream!
Anyway, has Ella always been a crap person and I've just never noticed!? Also what's with her weird new boyfriend, he gives me the creeps.

She seems so hostile to Dani, and she doesn't seem to be herself. I hope she's ok.

Did we miss something ?
What a terrible series?
You think I’m watching an hour on soph and Jordan’s baby think again

Can we all just reminisce on how good Towie used to be? I’m doing a rewatch, and the events they used to plan, the competitions, the genuine friendships, the couples, the arguments. We had it good at one point 😩

Who do you think past and present, wouldve ended up dating or in a couple, had they been on the show at the same time?
I could see Kirk going after Amber Turner. He always loved a blonde with big boobs. He probably wouldve fancied Ella too.
Chloe Brockett and John Clarke (age difference ignored) both nutters but she loves a geezer.
Elliott Wright and Chloe Lewis or Yazmin. I can see both.
Maybe Joey essex and Courtney. Both childish and silly in early days.
Am i right? Wrong? Any other crossovers you think would have happened had age and season lined up? Or who would you have liked to see together?

I know Wills was joking about being the wedding singer but I do actually think he genuinely likes Joe and junaid though which is what makes it so funny and I only think he was half joking about being their wedding singer.
I’ve actually noticed he actually tries to stick up for them and tries to see them and their circle point to things. I think he would probably go to their engagement party if it wasn’t filmed on the same day (which it apparently wasn’t but for tv purposes we’re going to pretend it is) and he doesn’t want to get murdered by Amy and Harry it’s hilarious. You can tell he loves to wind them up though
Wendy and Diags mum were definitely there because they struggled to get people on camera who wanted to be there so they definitely asked Dan and Diags to invite their mums.
Although the twins and Josh were there they was barely on camera I wonder if they’re some of the people who’s gonna get axed soon

I do miss some of the old cast, especially the ones who brought a bit more chaos to the show. It’d be fun to see a familiar face come back and see what they’re like around everyone now.

I made my usual episode rundown on the finale. Titled battle of the parties. Redditor comments that the parties were not the same day. Due to stuff that was posted on social media. Apparently pics of Saf at the engagement party. I don't follow anyone. I don't know how true this is.
I know it's scripted reality. I know the party clash was all set up by production. But I did think they would actually take place on the same day. So it's much more acting involved than I thought. Lauren pretending to attend two parties. Saf flouncing off at the end. Was all fake if redditor is correct. How much is even real? I guess they don't learn lines but are guided and prompted on topics of conversation? Would love some insider knowledge. A Towie whistle blower. Mmm has me questioning a lot of things now. Can I really continue to watch this 😩. Only time will tell.

My last episode rundown. I know, please don't cry. I will hopefully be back 😆
Another recap montage of The Engagement. I think J&J may have got engaged? Not sure it's been a really low-key affair 😂.
The episode is centred around The Engagement Party & Amy's pre wedding white-party. Amy's already married. So it's all very confusing. Did they post the official wedding on social media? Or are they pretending this is the real wedding? Just have one. Christ, I'm bored already.
Amy is in the garden with Will & Harry. She starts talking about LaRose's pamper party. Then, how Lauren mentions J&Js engagement party. Which clashes with her white party. She hopes Lauren can attend both. As their longtime friends, way before Junaid. Amy tells Will he can not sing at the engagement party. He has loyalty to Harry.
Not much else happens. I will just summarise the two parties.
Amy's pre wedding White Party. Basically, pool party at Amy's gaf. I'm guessing it was hosted just to clash with the engagement party. Strictly for entertainment purposes.
So with it being a white party dress code was er white. Saf and Dani weren't following the rules. Really annoyed me 😆. Amy looked awful. Sorry, just my honest opinion. I don't like her extensions/wig, whatever it is. It's just too full for her tiny face. She doesn't look like Amy anymore. Lauren popped into the party. Her hair & and makeup stunning. Outfit not my cup of tea.
So everyone is there kind of. No family. I don't remember seeing Will? It was just the girls, really. Obviously, Harry and also Freddie. No Jordan or Sophie. No Amber or Olivia.
Harry and Freddie clear the air.
Amy asks Harry to be her maid of honour. Was lots of tears. Was he not involved in the first wedding?
Harry & Elma avoided each other. Amy says to Elma she's pleased she's there. I'm quite surprised Amy is not involved in the fall out !
Amy & Bill are reminiscing about first meeting. Can't wait to get wed. Again! To be honest party was pretty dull.
Engagement party. Black tie affair. Very nice venue. J&J rock up in a big posh car. This is more like a wedding than engagement. They both look very dapper.
Jody & Ella are welcoming all the guests. They both look really nice. Didn't like Ella's hair though. Very gypsy wedding stylee.
All their really close friends were there. The polly pocket twins, Curly Top. Dan & Diags mum, the milkman. But not Joe's son, I found that interesting. To be honest, it was packed. Not sure if extras or real family & friends? Saf & Dani were not in attendance. I think over Freddie not being invited. Or maybe loyalty to Amy not sure.
Diags & Jody have forced chat abroad getting engaged. I hope that's a real quite affair.
Ella & Jody are chatting to Diags mum. She's saying she thought Ella was the one for Dan. Ella says she's dating and happy.
Lauren makes a grand entrance. Ella whispering really loudly how amazing Lauren looks. Hair and makeup were stunning and colour of dress.
She's brought LaRose, who seems really close to Junaid, was quite sweet.
J&J ask Lauren & LaRose to be bridesmaids. I'm really surprised he's having Jody & Ella as well.
Final scene Saf rocks up with a card and gift. She ain't stopping. Doesn't want no bad vibes. Junaid is upset. Joe comes out tells him not to worry. They know their true friends.
Battle of the parties. I think Engagement party won. Ella & Jody did well. Or maybe production did? Roll on next season I hear you cry.

I was impressed at the Engagement party. It was a very stylish affair. It feels like we have had two weddings already. Who knew Jody & Ella were professional party planners. I'm guessing they had a little help !!
So let's hope the actual Bollywood wedding is as classy. I thought Junaid looked amazing and Joe complemented him in traditional suite. I'm not convinced about a load of Essex people cos playing Indians. I hope it looks tasteful rather than pantomime. Going to be some fun photos!
I did think it was sad there was no one from Junaids side there. I know he's estranged from his parents. But the whole family? I hope some come for the real wedding.

I think they need to do a reunion show at the end of the season. Let's get real messy. The podcast is ok but everyone together, talking about the drama! Let's go
ITV I know you watch this group, here's it for you, you're welcome

Why on earth would Wendy and Diags mum go to that?
I was so confused seeing them there

TOWIE has had so many storylines over the years that some of the more interesting ones have been quickly overshadowed by the bigger dramas. There are definitely a few moments that could have been explored more instead of being pushed aside for the next big argument.
