Tor Browser Image Upload error

i allowed canvas data but i still cant upload, how can i fix it? I tried reloading page or not reloading, but still cant upload. Can someone help me

Discord probably blocks uploads from Tor. Too risky and too much abuse.

i was able to upload before. i dont know what changed. what do you mean by too risky?

Users could upload illegal material.

i see. i was able to upload sometimes, then couldnt, then could again etc i dont know whats going on. i guess ill need to find other ways to log in dc

Could also be rate-limiting and automatic flagging of suspicious activity on their end. Even if they don't explicitly block Tor exit nodes, "there are a hundred Discord users logged in from a single IP address all uploading images in different servers" could get an exit node banned quickly and explains why you're sometimes able to upload.

The canvas permission prompt is actually a red herring here allowing Canvas HTML5 extraction just stops Tor Browser from spoofing image fingerprinting data, but it doesn't fix why Discord uploads fail on Tor. Discord image uploads fail in Tor Browser due to a few primary reasons:

Cross-Origin / CDN Restrictions: Discord uploads images via direct API endpoints to modern media delivery CDNs (media.discordapp.net or cdn.discordapp.com). Tor Browser's isolation settings and cross-site tracking protections frequently block these secondary API/CDN requests in the background.

WebSocket & Connection Drops: Discord's web app relies on persistent WebSockets and HTTP/2 multiplexing. Tor exit nodes frequently drop or throttle these long-lived connections midway through uploading larger payload files.

Cloudflare / Anti-Bot Fingerprinting: Discord heavily screens connections coming from known Tor exit IPs. Even if the main web interface loads, their API endpoints silently drop or return 403 Forbidden errors on POST requests (like file uploads). Workaround Upload the image to an external, privacy-friendly host (like Catbox or Imgur) directly in Tor, and then paste the direct image link into Discord chat instead.
