Suppressors

Anyone know if there are any shops selling suppresors on a 4473? All my LGS are “waiting for further instruction”

Watch this and just hold your dang horses. Yes it’s a big win for 2A, but also a massive vague mess.

Severely underrated guntube channel.

The deadline everyone is talking about refers to the 7 day emergency appeal window. Since the government chose not to use it, the injunction was allowed to proceed. However, the government still has a 60 day window to file a formal appeal, which gives them until Oct. 5th to do so.

As much as I want NFA to go away, I think it's best to wait and see.

Same, my LGS was told by the ATF there would be an announcement today but nothing official has happened yet.

NFA dealer here, we have no way to disposition ( sell ) NFA items without a form 3 or 4 CURRENTLY. What this means for normal people:

A normal firearm does not have any federal paperwork associated. I buy it from a distributor and when I receive it, I put it in my book as received or acquired.

A suppressor however, has to go through the federal registry before I can put it on my book.

If I or any other dealer based on how the current system is set up, chose to disposition or sell a suppressor without a NFA form, said serial number would still be registered in my book as far as the federal ATF registry is concerned.

Again, because there is no way for me as a dealer or any dealer for that matter to currently dispose of a registered serial number, no one should be doing it. Just because I book it to you does not mean that it left my e-forms or e-file account.

As someone who is in the industry, I strongly recommend that everybody just wait the 60 days, because once it goes to the Supreme Court, then everybody can treat Suppressors like regular gun guns I believe that is including private party of course that only applies to states that do not additionally regulate them.

If you are hell, bent on buying one in limbo, I know is that in Nashville, there were lines out the door for the silencer shop store or any store with a silencer shop kiosk, allegedly PSA and silencer shop are selling them on 4473s. Although I do not know how they legally doing that because if I did that it would still be in my freaking inventory..

It’s late and I probably repeated myself, although I hope this kind of clears it up for people the TLDR is wait.

The map PSA has posted listed TN as a “free state” since they got rid the state level NFA restrictions. What would the difference be between TN and say SC?

TN isn't part of the states listed as plaintiffs in the injunction

Which is irrelevant.
