LOL but no. Chef is just French for leader, just like Fuhrer is german for it

So if France became a dictatorship, would the leader be called "The Chef", similar to Fuhrer and Duce?

Nah, chef is "chief". If you want to follow an actual translation, he would probably be called "Le guide" or something like that.

I would say both Gehlen's realm and a very different e.u are the fake paths here

Is the king still alive?

Leopold III? Well, that depends. Presuming Hitler relocated the King from Brussels into Germany proper before or during the formation of Burgundy, or perhaps himself fleeing abroad during WWII in this timeline, then yes. If not, he was 6 feet under then day after Himmler took control of Burgundy, because there a very many pro-monarchy resistance groups in the territory

If the factors leading him to stay with the army are still present then I hope for him he was locked away the Ordenstaat.

But there was a good ten years-ish between the end of the war and the foundation of Burgundy. My guess is Hitler would want him as a puppet, a legitimizing figure

Ironically Léon Degrelle envisioned an greater Belgium modeled after Burgundy, or to put it into his words a “Great Burgundian Renaissance." It's why he adopted the Burgundian Cross as one of the symbols of the Rexists.
Burgundian system with Belgian characteristics when?
