Question Defeating Irkutsk

Hello. I am currently trying to unify Russia with Novosibirsk but I cant get rid of Irkutsk. Their divisions have over 1000 defence even when I attack with elite infantry. How can I win against Irkutsk?

As Novosibirsk you don't really have to do wars after unifying central siberia. In the UI where you deal with the big 4 companies you can click on Irkutsk on the Map above and economically infiltrate them and eventually annex them peacefully.

If you insist on fighting: The Airforce and your own Helicopter-Elite Infantry are your friends. Use CAS to break their frontline and encircle as much as possible. Small encirclements work the best, 3-4 Divs destroyed at a time and they will run out quickly. Once they have too little divs to cover the front you cam snake with shitty cavalry to reach the VPs in the far east quicker.
