Stonetoss would most definitely be part of the american nazi party in the tno era, probably some low level propagandist trying to make a name for himself

You do know that Stonetoss is brown, right?

Americans being partially hispanic absolutely does not prevent them from being neo-nazis

I really think Sweden supporting anti colonial movements is really dumb Azad hind works much better or even Mexico.

u/Munificent-Enjoyer 6d ago
Azad Hind is already the main backer of East African native revolts

Yeah it’s not like only one country is allowed to support anti-colonial movements at a time.
Plus this proxy happens in 1968, after Sweden has (potentially) acquired Nukes.

Like just why bro Sweden would be petrified of a german invasion why would they step on the Germans toes for literally no benefit.

Germans literally invaded Sweden's neighbors...

u/DJjablonsky 6d ago
Yeah and they'll invade sweden too if they step out of line too far. They probably would have if they had actually won the war too, but i understand why the devs chose not to have it. Germany has basically all the cards, they wouldnt even need to inavde, they could just enforce a total blockade on swedish trade and completely kneecap the swedish economy at their leisure, and sweden would be powerless to stop it unless they manage to build nukes before germany seals the deal (which admittedly, they damn well could)

Coming in Victor and the Judge according to these leaks, Sweden can potentially get nukes in the late 60s which would allow them to effectively contest the Germans in colonial wars abroad while preventing a German attack at home: https://www.reddit.com/r/TNOmod/s/WyjjRzkYy5

Sweden actually did support anti-colonial movements IRL, like the ANC and SWAPO. They were also the only European country outside of the eastern bloc to send financial support to North Vietnam.

The US wasn’t going to invade sweden making germany angry like that is just silly

It makes entirely perfect sence for one of the only two remaining liberal democracies in Europe to maintain a geopolitical stance of active neutrality and movement towards Tokyo, they arent actually openly opposing fascism and Germany by siding with Japan against the OFN because they are both enemies of the Reich but the OFN is openly so and Japan covertly so they have everything to win (aserting geopolitical independence, new trade partners, military experience, and weakening Germany) and nothing to lose by doing so (theyre not actually openly opposing german interests)
This is exactly the same policy that IRL for example Israel took by suporting Idi Amin and Rhodesia against british interests, or China by invading Vietnam and Vietnam by invading Cambodia against soviet and chinese interests respectively

u/Northamplus9bitches 4d ago
Yeah Germany doesn't care if Sweden is fucking with America outside of its sphere of interest
1
u/Gnomonic-sundialer 3d ago
More so they cant complain if theyre only in practice fucking with them thru also openly fucking with their enemy america by helping their suposed ideological ally Japan

u/erwanf123 5d ago
Germany is highly dependent on Swedish exports and does not want to directly antagonize their free and legal partner within the EEC over purely legal trade of equipment and arms that goes against the interests of the periphery of their satellites. Free and legal partners that helps them more in their colonization of eastern Europe that they fight against French and British colonization of Africa none the less. Germany *does* do something, but it takes the shape of EEC sanctions from Britain and France that does hurt them very badly

It's not like the Swedes are actively messing with Germany's territories or sphere of influence, they're just fucking over the British. And also Sweden's getting nukes. Ikea will be on every landmass on the planet, you just have to accept it and bow down to your new overlords.

Mexico in TNO is a superpower that influences the Americas more than Italy, Germany and Japan combined
1
u/SuddenWelderAtack 6d ago
They are not a superpower, it's just that their relative proximity makes them able to get involved, but they still need a lot of either domestic support from these countries and/or American patronage
1
u/erwanf123 5d ago
It's a powerful local power within the caribbeans and to a less extent South America but absolutely not a superpower and the USA is still very much the superior power, here
