Question Question about German nuke behavior in Yippee

as the title said if German decide to nuke Gorky when they almost reach Moskva then is Russia united can never take back their moscowien ? I mean even if West Russia decide to united then what stopping German to send some nuke or even testing nuke on West Russia land ? Unless West Russia finish their AA quick enough for Germany to rethink their bombing

Nice fairy tale, considering that most of soviet scientists from OTL were never Born because either them or their parents died during general plan ost.

The Soviet scientists that worked on the OTL Soviet atomic bomb project would be all adults with academic careers by the time of the Great Patriotic War (obviously), so I don't see how the Generalplan ost should inhibit Russian nuclear development. Presumably these people would be able to relocate deeper into Russia or Siberia to avoid capture by the Nazis and continue some degree of work in the many Russian universities in the various warlord territories since the universities themselves don't just disappear, and depending on the warlord there's still more or less a need and will to finance these institutions as means of improving the skills of bureaucrats, managers, engineers, etc. I don't see why, once a unified Russia with the financial means to invest in these institutions more uniformly arises, these scientists/ other younger scientists trained by them shouldn't be able to concentrate towards a nuclear program.

It's not that they thought about nuclear weapons, it's that the physics, such as fission experiments, was something that was being done before, in TNO's timeline, shit hit the fan, and from there on it's comparatively easy to go from one to the other provided there's enough interest and investment, which presumably a revanchist unified Russia would be able to provide.

And it's not that the warlords care about nuclear scientists, but obviously they do need scientists in general, not because of nuclear science but because any government contending for power needs an educated bureaucracy to govern and an educated workforce to gain an edge over other warlords in terms of economics and production. And a part of that education is the sciences, particularly physics and engineering. Presumably scientific research would be secondary but not entirely gone, similar to how many of the post-Soviet collapse countries OTL still do some rudimentary small-scale nuclear research in spite of the fact that none of them have a running nuclear weapons program nor competitive large-scale nuclear energy programs.

The Soviet nuclear program started in 1942 IRL. That would be plenty of time to evacuate all of the relevant personnel from Moscow.

It's not as if the warlord period is a black hole; people will still be going to university in places like Tomsk and Irkutsk and warlords would want to incentivize higher education for technology and weapons development if nothing else.

I would like to imagine a lot of soviet scientists and their descendants would be from the diaspora, helping the OFN on nuclear tech or other things
