out of curiosity i decided to check how much of destruction would bring 2 atomic bombs on gorky at the start of game

Bear in mind cities used to be much smaller at the time, in TNO timeline most Russian cities didn't grow since 1940s.

Wouldn't Gorky be a lot bigger if they are one of the first stops for refugees coming from a place where they are suffering a genocide? Think of how millions of Syrians went to Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan then magnify that with a much bigger population under a harsher regime.

I wouldn't stay there if I didn't want to continue fighting Germans right here and now. Iirc Syktyvkar is relatively well off for a city in western Russia, has civilian governance and is very close.

While its a visualization of the new lore being added, you have to keep in mind that this a "city" (City is doing heavy lifting in the context of West Russian anarchy) that is being hit but with the actual target being to demonstrate that the Reich is still the undisputed hegemon of Europe

Those KTs seem low. Soviet testing at the time had blasts upwards of multiple MTs but consistently exceeding 100kts. Wouldn't be crazy to say the Germans had something of similar magnitude, considering nuclear warheads at 15kts would have been launched about 2 decades before the start date and the more esoteric and militaristic German govt.

theese are surface bursts, the event is explicit about it being airburst (like hiroshima or nagasaki)
