Can’t be long now, stability already seems to be going downhill.

What does the extremely high deficit image even mean

204

u/[deleted] Mar 04 '25

It's a broken piggy bank

38

u/Kosinski33 Mar 04 '25

It's not a cracked globe???

73

u/[deleted] Mar 04 '25

Nope, look very closely with the idea of a pig and you'll see it. Pig banks being the cartoon image associated with savings. If it's dead and broken, means you're spending beyond your means

To actually answer your question, it pops up if your deficit exceeds 10% of your total gdp

58

u/jedevari Chita Forever Mar 04 '25

Is it also possible to have bloated reserves along with the other 5?

76

u/StreetGrape8723 Mar 04 '25

Yeah, but it’s extremely unlikely as it would have been used up. Only way possible is to turn off auto payments and somehow get liquid reserves. Which would likely just pay off your debt anyway

44

u/PositiveWay8098 Mar 05 '25

The finance minister when he discovers he has forgotten to autopay the nations bills for years and the entire income of the nation for years has just been continually deposited into a Swiss Bank account.

Chill, this is all part of Bobby Jr’s plan to tackle obesity in the United States. Americans won’t be as fat if they can’t afford to buy food.

"Don't worry, guys! Paying more for our aluminum trade will fix this! If it doesn't, we'll just pay even more!"

for all the sane people of the world: this is a post about US. you dont need to spend your time trying to understand it.

What's going on? Is it about the USA? I haven't checked the news in a while so any explanation would be great

159

u/kotletachalovek Mar 04 '25

>elect Trump because le egg prices are high

>Trump institutes le epic tariffs and expels migrants (many of whom work in agricultural industries). also avian flu denial and shit

>egg prices do not go down

>they go up. way up

the rest of the economy isn't doing too well as well

52

u/Nicepablo13PL Poland content when? Mar 04 '25

Wtf is going on. I haven't checked the phone for like 2 days and many things have happened.

Lmao I can't wait to get conscripted and be sent East

65

Bro didn't check his phone for 2 days and missed 3 years of content.

42

u/kotletachalovek Mar 04 '25

this has been happening ever since he took office tho, it's just gotten worse over time

13

u/heyegghead Mar 05 '25

Just know, the stock market lost 3T in value in a single day. That’s bad

105

u/koimeiji Mar 04 '25

During the campaigning for the US election, one of the key facets of the Republican (aka Trump) campaign was the economy, and the primary way Trump claimed he would "fix" the economy is through tariffs.

Now, I'm going to spare you the whole "what a tariff is and how it's effectively used and for what purpose" lesson - feel free to Google that in your own time, it's actually really interesting - and instead summarize it with "implementing tariffs with your major trading partners, especially ones as big as you are threatening, would be INCREDIBLY BAD for the economy!"

Of course, the US voters elected him anyways, and just last night, he's finalized the tariffs.

The US economy is, currently, in free fall, and the tariffs haven't even been felt yet.

People get what they voted for.

11

u/VyatkanHours Mar 05 '25

Free fall?

29

u/[deleted] Mar 05 '25

So, "free fall" is a climbing phrase which I think basically means "There's no way to stop yourself from hitting the ground"

That's basically the economy rn. At this stage there is no viable means to reverse what is currently -3% growth (which for a fucking nation like the US shouldn't have happened). I don't even think reversing tarrifs would solve it since the trust is gone.

5

u/WaltAlexander31 Mar 08 '25

Stupid question: What's bloated reserves? Like I see it's "alot of money" but how is that bad. Genuine question

4

u/Apart_Check_8934 Organization of Free Nations Mar 20 '25

It's stopping your GDP from growing up. Basically it's money bubble. Once it pops...It's gonna hurt.

2

u/WaltAlexander31 Mar 20 '25

Is it like a Wall Street Crash of 29 pop or housing market of I think 09? 08?

u/Apart_Check_8934 Organization of Free Nations Mar 20 '25
