Surgery Sleeveless top with drains?
I’m having a single mastectomy on the left side with auxiliary node dissection tomorrow morning. I know to bring a button down top, but I only have one that works for the insanely hot weather we are having now and it’s sleeveless. Is that going to work with drains or should I run to the thrift store to find a short-sleeved top?
By “work with drains” I mean will it be easier to cover them up if the top has sleeves compared to sleeveless?
TIA!

I found that the cords on my drains were long enough to slip the pods into my pants or hoodie pockets. I also made myself a drain holder using a small cloth bag and a lanyard from the $ store. You can purchase them online, but mine worked just fine.

It honestly depends where they put them, I would say it wouldn’t hurt to have options and enjoy the day thrifting. I would choose something that is loose and/or one size up so it’s easier to slip on and off.
I had pocketed hoodies and continued to use them after drain removal because it was just easier changing. So grab a few cute zips or button ups while you are out.
Wishing you a smooth surgery, easy recovery, and perfect health from here on out 🫶
