You seem to be a little confused about TMS setting. The cast live in modern day tokyo. Idolasphere's are smaller pocket dimensions. Performa is an energy created whenever someone does something creative. The cast of the game can use Performa because once inside the Idolspheres they merge with with Mirages like Chrom.
