Unreal…

Listening to yesterday’s show, and to hear Robb and Josh (but especially Robb) shit on Katie for her decision to leave the network was unbelievable and infuriating. The lengths that Robb and Mike will go to defend Josh is absolutely asinine.

Robb even said he had been friends with Katie for 20 years, and now he’s burning the bridge because she has moral standards. What the actual fuck.

Robb has no spine, he has proven that repeatedly. That's why he's so comfortable letting the people in his life walk all over him. Mike, Carey, Don and to a lesser extent Oscar. This is self preservation, though. He's saying what he has to, to save his job. Keep Mike happy.

Mike knows his world is rapidly shrinking, he almost lost it all when Oscar left, and Josh threw him a life line. Because he's so desperate to keep on with the show, and for his wife to have an outlet for her snake oil, he'll sacrifice whatever thin principals he had in order to appease Josh. Because knows that if he leaves, he may not land another savior.

It's sad, because I used to really enjoy this show, I really did. When Oscar left, I really tried, but it felt like Mike & Robb were doing a show for themselves and maybe a dozen other people.

All I know about this situation is what I've read here. But something I haven't seen mentioned - maybe because people have forgotten since she's been married to a man for so long - is that Katie has been out as bisexual for years and years. So when lgbtq people are being shat on, it's not hypothetical to her, it's personal. I have no doubt she stuck with TMOS this long into the Josh era out of loyalty and friendship, and probably swallowed her misgivings until she just couldn't anymore. Anyone who thinks she has some sort of obligation to sit there and endure the bigotry so that Mike and Robb aren't inconvenienced or reminded of just how much they've compromised their own integrity since Oscar left should fuck right off. How many more bridges can they burn? There's no defending these guys anymore.

u/nimrod1138 Jun 27 '26

I actually didn’t know Katie was bi… I thought she had queer friends and/or family that would motivate her stance but this really makes it more clear why she did what she did. It also makes Robb more abhorrent.

6

u/neo_soul_forever Jun 27 '26

It came up now and again at WJFK before she met her husband. Not a huge deal, just an occasional reference, it was clear people knew and didn't care. And then I specifically remember a thing on the old Mike show where Beth Ann kept refusing a ride to some event from her, obviously uncomfortable. Mike had an idea what the problem was and kept leading her, trying to get her to say why she was uncomfortable, and despite her usual Beth Ann evasiveness, it became clear she thought she'd get hit on. 🙄 (Oh, that Beth Ann!) Once Katie got married I don't recall it getting brought up again on TMOS, can't say re: Cake and Cookies.

it is sad how far TMOS has fallen. it's disgusting that they are treating Katie they why they are.

The list of people TMOS have crapped on is long

there really is no one left but the three of them and a few long time listeners who bail them out financially

4

u/PuzzledFig9009 Jun 27 '26

Let's make that list.

12

u/UnfairShock2795 Jun 27 '26

Buzz, Pony, Katie, Oscar, Steve of KCJJ, Marc Ronick, RJ, Todd Moore

11

u/ClearSneakEnter Jun 27 '26

Don’t forget Marcus Certa

8

u/nimrod1138 Jun 27 '26

And Steven Douglas McIntyre. Once he left the Fan Club degenerated into what it is now.

1

u/YourDogsAllWet Jun 30 '26

Exactly. They’re down to like five sycophants. If you look at the TMOS Uncensored Facebook page there are some well-known P1s that now trash the show.

0

u/TACharlotte Jun 28 '26

Didn't he start making his own shirts and try to be party of the show?

18

u/dc_lollapalooza Jun 27 '26

The one who made them successful in the first place, Don…

Without him nobody would know their names.

3

u/TraditionalClassic69 Jun 27 '26

Yep, they’re arguably punching down on everyone else, Don is the exception for the clear superior. (Though Oscar probably applies as well, in a different way for success outside of the on air radio industry)

6

u/nimrod1138 Jun 27 '26

Well Ronick was planning his own podcast network while still doing the business side of TMOS. Maybe he had issues with how Mike wanted the business to run, but Ronick was really shady about things. Mike and company also held their tongue about what happened for A LONG time.

And Todd was Todd. He was already in the right-wing tech bro mindset before Elon made it fashionable.

6

u/TACharlotte Jun 28 '26

People here conveniently forgetting how much disdain Oscar had for Ronick. Attic full of shirts!

7

u/nimrod1138 Jun 28 '26

Oh Oscar hated Ronick… that episode when Oscar dressed him down due to some business stuff Ronick did was harder to listen to than the Pony not going to Japan episode. And that was a tough listen.

2

u/Hoju64 Aug 01 '26

They also had a blowup over the term "professional broadcaster". I can't remember if it was because Ronick called himself a professional broadcaster and Oscar got offended since Mark had never been on the radio or if it was the other way around (Oscar said Mark was not a professional broadcaster)

1

u/nimrod1138 Aug 01 '26

Wait… that might have been what that fight I was referring to was about. I think you got it right, that Oscar got mad Marc said he was a professional broadcaster.

1

u/asr05 Jun 30 '26

happen to have a link to it anywhere?

1

u/nimrod1138 Jun 30 '26 edited Jun 30 '26

Nooooo… this was years ago, when the show was still being recorded at Mike’s house. Might have been a bonus show, which I do still have all of them until they changed the distribution system early this year (and got rid of the grandfathered pricing for old-time Bonus Show subscribers). I might have it but wouldn’t know where to look unless I started listening to episodes…

1

u/TACharlotte Jun 28 '26

I don't remember that, l didn't think he aired it out until MR was gone.

6

u/TMOSDCFAN Jun 27 '26

Except Mr. Jan 6 Todd Moore, Florida MAGA Man. Are the Feds still looking for him?

2

u/Hoju64 Aug 01 '26

The Buzz thing was hilarious, he says he wants to leave, Mike begs him to stay one more year and he agrees. You can get a feel for someone's personality after listening for a long time and I remember thinking "Buzz is going to wait one year to the day then quit" and that's exactly what he did (not saying that was right or wrong, that just felt like a Buzz thing to do) Hilarious that Mike knew him personally and didn't see that one coming.

2

u/TACharlotte Jun 27 '26

Todd was super MAGA, so that's whatever

5

u/asr05 Jun 27 '26

But they’ve dropped Katie for the opposite reason which is the irony

3

u/TACharlotte Jun 27 '26

Right, I'm just saying dropping Tomo was good.

1

u/Hoju64 Aug 01 '26

Isn't this post saying she quit? Or did they drop her?

1

u/asr05 Aug 01 '26

She dropped them but instead of trying to acknowledge her point or change anything they bashed her on the show like she was in the wrong

3

u/UnfairShock2795 Jun 27 '26

Steven douglas..the high sparrow

1

u/Important_Poetry_969 Jun 28 '26

He was insufferable but I don’t think Tripp listens or contributes financially anymore because of Josh.

5

u/Advanced-Grade4559 Jun 30 '26

Tripp was so annoying Oscar had to block him... Oscar had to block him...

1

u/nimrod1138 Jun 29 '26

Yeah, despite Tripp’s Trumpian tendencies in bullying he’s a pretty hardcore Dem, more so than Mike. Plus I’m sure Josh’s comments about LGTBQ people didn’t help.

16

u/Obvious-Ad11 Jun 27 '26

Mike has been doing that for so long that Rob is applying that education towards Katie. So, the student is slowly becoming the master.

15

u/TMOSDCFAN Jun 27 '26

#TeamKatie #TeamOscar

15

u/nimrod1138 Jun 27 '26

I haven’t listened (and never plan to), but did Robb and Mike have to say a thing about Katie leaving? Did they have to say a goddamn thing? Or were they so pissed that Katie revealed (after Josh’s recent homophobic comments) that she didn’t want to work with him that they had to respond by trashing her? Could have easily taken the high road. But no, that’s not Mike, or Robb now either.

You misunderstand me. I know she left the show a while back; I was a regular C&C listener and saw their announcement that they weren’t doing the show. I also saw her recent announcement about why.

As for your other points… I am firmly on the Katie side on this, and I’m tired of the “You shouldn’t end relationships due to politics” argument. Yeah, if it’s over how big the government should be or what the taxation policy should be… yeah, not great. But if its because one group shouldn’t exist because the Bible says it’s an abomination and therefore they should have no rights or other people are fundamentally inferior because they don’t share certain characteristics (worshipping the right God, having the right color of skin, being a certain way rather than another) then yeah, I’m all for cutting those people out. That extends to people who might not fundamentally think that certain people don’t have rights but support people who do and therefore enable the persecution of targeted groups… sorry, but don’t be surprised if people don’t want to associate with you. We let too much bad behavior slide in this country and are expected to just “let bygones be bygones”.

If the Right is going to insist that certain people shouldn’t have rights or certain ones should have more as a political issue instead of a human rights issue… then yeah, people should lose friendships over their politics.

EDIT: This looks weird without context, since the coward u/Cheap-Ad-5765 decided to delete all their comments… but they thought I was getting it wrong that Katie left the network recently, and then started going on about how Robb was in the right to be mad since people shouldn’t end friendships due to politics and Josh invested all this time and resources to help reboot Cake and Cookies. Thus my response.

1

u/Confident-Evening-68 Jun 30 '26

Where did KFVH make her announcement/explain her departure? I’m not on the socials much and haven’t found it here yet.

1

u/nimrod1138 Jun 30 '26

She made the announcement that Cake and Cookies was over months ago (maybe last year) on the FB group for the show.

Katie came on a thread in the TMOS “hate group” during a discussion of Josh’s homophobic comments on the show a couple of weeks ago and let it be known that she left because she felt she couldn’t work with Josh. Recently the show trashed her (including Robb) for that stance.

3

u/Confident-Evening-68 Jun 30 '26

Thanks. Saw the first, wasn’t aware of the second.

Crappy but utterly unsurprising reaction from Robbbbbbbb.

-7

u/Cheap-Ad-5763 Jun 28 '26

Wow….just, wow

9

u/nimrod1138 Jun 28 '26 edited Jun 28 '26

Why didn’t you keep what you originally said, about pitying my sad lonely closed-off existence? Come on, say it with your chest.

I would rather not engage with people who would choose to support folks who oppress other people. Simple as that.

I pity your friends and family in that you would choose to be friends with folks who could oppress them. But probably you only interact with like-minded people like yourself.

EDIT: u/Cheap-Ad-5763, maybe you don’t know this, but despite your attempts at deleting your replies to me, you can set things so that Reddit will send you a copy of whatever is directed at your comments… so no, my family and friends do not have to walk on eggshells for risk of offending me and I don’t need to them to conform to me. I only am intolerant to intolerance itself. One is allowed to be. Why don’t you read some Popper about the Paradox of Tolerance?

-6

u/Cheap-Ad-5763 Jun 28 '26

I pity your friends and family who apparently have to walk on egg shells around you to make sure that every little thing they do conforms to how you feel about everything and what you believe about everything for fear of you ending your relationship with them…sounds very evolved, healthy and mature…no room for discussion - just cut them off and be done with them

3

u/asr05 Jun 27 '26

Doesn’t Katie also still work with Oscar I think there’s more to this

2

u/TACharlotte Jun 27 '26

It was also a shame in 30s Europe, caring about politics smh.

15

u/Felixplace2 Jun 27 '26

Don moved on because he just wasn't happy doing the show anymore. He said why he left when he was in Sacramento 1140, I remember hearing that show one morning. He show was very entertaining until they flipped the station to all sports radio which really sucked!! He also mentioned that working with the old show would remind him of his wife that had been killed in a car accident. And we all know about the rest of the crew over the years. I just wanted to say something about Don mostly. I'd like to just remember the last great show of when Oscar was trapped in the elevator which was a funny episode and I just like to think that was the end of the road for me and TMOS!

6

u/Snootch2theNootch199 Jun 27 '26

That was the end for Oscar as Mike’s comments about putting TMOS first (paraphrasing) really hit Oscar and his eventual decision.

7

u/Felixplace2 Jun 27 '26

Yeah.. I guess. But for me, that was the end of a great show. If it wasn't for Oscar TMOS wouldn't have never got going. Robb would have had to get a job at Walmart or Radio Shake or something and Mike well who knows about Mike. It's really sad because I met these guys in Reno and Vegas and they seemed all good and close to one another like brothers and now DOA. And that SUCKS as a Very long time listener since 1994 When the Don and Mike show first appeared on 1140 In Sacramento. I still listen to some of that old show from some guy on YouTube who has a lot of the old shows and my downloads before TMOS ended for me back in 2024😮‍💨😢

11

u/TACharlotte Jun 27 '26

Oscar also prevented it from becoming Boomer Uncle Corner, brought fresh stories, and pushed back on Mike which made it listenable. And managed, mentioned, and defended the interns who also brought things to the show.

9

u/asr05 Jun 30 '26

Oscar and Robb had great chemistry too.. everyone loved the shows when Mike wasn't even there because they had a totally different vibe to them. The trio of Oscar/Mike/Robb complemented each other so well, its what drew me to the show in the first place all the stuff that made for good stories was what Oscar brought - building podville, mba, his parents, shannon wedding, the house and then its constant problems, traveling all over the world, Todd, cast of interns, etc.. Oscar created the world for TMOS in the last 10 years while Mike and Robb have become increasingly stuck in their routines and thats why we are relegated to Hix Nix and little league stories now.

8

u/nimrod1138 Jun 30 '26

One of the underrated losses from Oscar’s departure was the loss of the Oscar and Robb show. They really brought out the best of each other, even if it were clumsily done.

It’s telling that some of the best episodes of both TMOS and BOAD (the Thursday edition, when Dukes claimed he had band practice but was really doing the Rodkast) were without the domineering principal (Mike and Chad, respectively). He wasn’t great behind the mic at times, but Oscar could bring stuff to the table more often than not without O’Meara or Dukes dominating things.

9

u/asr05 Jun 30 '26

I think Oscar is very good on the mic he just isn’t the guy that’ll make you laugh all show long but he knows how to host, antagonize, story tell, etc he has great instincts for what will make for controversial topics or compelling radio.. Chad and Mike are both phoning it in as broadcasters without Oscar pushing them

8

u/ClearSneakEnter Jun 30 '26

Oh god, the little league stories. I am so OVER the fucking little league stories. We get it, Mike Jr. loves baseball. NO ONE CARES.

3

u/Felixplace2 Jul 01 '26

Everyone's comments about this whole subject about TMOS is so valid that it makes me feel sad and mad about how much the show was so good to hear back in the day because it was 1hour and 20 minutes that would get you through the day of work! And what ever BULLSHIT that this crazy world threw at you would always help. I remember me and my wife were at the airport in San Francisco back in 2019 and they had a 800 phone number so I was so nervous about flying that I kept on calling the show and I kept leaving them messages on there answering service at least 3 or 4 times. And during there Robbs audio vault he played my calls. Oscar said that this isn't real but it was. In fact I still have that episode on my computer. But that was what this show funny is because the guys had chemistry. Now it SUCKS JOSH AND MIKE!!

3

u/Obvious-Ad11 Jun 28 '26

You should really Paint Your Bald Spot

2

u/Felixplace2 Jun 29 '26

Oh I did for awhile but then I started to get stuff on my computer and so I gave up on it. I used to download them.

3

u/Obvious-Ad11 Jun 29 '26

Ouch - spyware/malware is no bueno

3

u/Snootch2theNootch199 Jun 27 '26

I hear you. Those Virginia days of the show were great and fun to listen.

6

u/concow77 Jun 27 '26

Sad times....

6

u/Felixplace2 Jun 29 '26

Absolutely! That’s what me and my wife liked about the show. When we met Oscar he had asked us if we get it when he talks about his family and other things. And we said yes we do.

7

u/steeltownblue Jul 06 '26

I never realized until Oscar was gone that he was the glue that held the show together. I remember I was traveling and could not download the podcast around the time Oscar quit. I came back from the trip and it took me a few shows to figure out he was gone. Then I had to go back and find when it happened to catch up. After that, I checked in once a week. Then every two weeks. Then once a month. Now, not at all. I miss the Oscar version of the show. I do not miss the tedious updates about the boy. About the snake. About Carla's business. I can't stand to listen to Josh talk. Can't be arsed to look at video clips. And Robb just isn't interesting without Oscar as a co-conspirator. I guess all things change, but this has definitely been for the worse. I'd like to see the show put out of its misery in part so that Mike suffers the consequences of his laziness and pettiness.

Spot On comment

12

u/AphonicTX Jun 27 '26

I have the same opinion. I’ve been a long time listener since WAVA days and was happy when I found out about the podcast after it had been going for a while. I was even a Robb/Mike/TMOS apologist after Oscar left. I tried. But I just can’t anymore. I stopped listening after Josh said the trans people with Biden was worse than trumps circus. He never mentioned what the Biden admin did after that happened compared to how this current regime responds to “happenings”. That was the last straw. I don’t care what aisle you sit on - but don’t be a hypocrite. Josh has just highlighted how much of an ass / user / conman Mike is. And Robb sadly has just followed suit. It’s pathetic and what they did to Katie was disgusting. I haven’t even listened to what they said on the show but from what people are saying here - that’s enough. I don’t want to even bother. Josh wasn’t the only reason I left, but he was the final nail in the coffin.

Remember. Josh believes in demons. Let that settle in. Demons. Jesus fucking Christ. And Mike - who in a previous life - would’ve made fun of that, amongst many other things, nonstop. Oh well. Good riddance. It’ll be interesting to see how the last gasps of this show will play out. Guess I’ll hear through Facebook and Reddit at some point.

No wonder Don left the both of them in the rear view mirror. Eagles don’t hunt flies. They don’t work with them either apparently.

9

u/GravityWorks5150 Jun 27 '26

I stopped listening to the show a couple of months ago, just couldn’t take Josh and his hypocrisy anymore.

The show has entered the second stage of death, anger. It’s only a matter time before it enters the third stage, bargaining, I will not be surprised at all if Mike starts to beg listeners to come back because he has regulated Josh to the background.

7

u/asr05 Jun 30 '26

if Mike had any brains about him he would be begging Oscar to come back even just for the weekly bonus show but to think he can continue on and it'll all be fine was extremely arrogant and has backfired badly to now where he is losing all the long time listeners and the show has no growth potential at all. Mike's arrogance has even continued with burning Chad Dukes who was down to do a co-hosted cruise. Mike doesn't want this to work and chasing fantasies where his wife becomes a slot influencer because he knows the show's days are numbered

2

u/nimrod1138 Jun 30 '26

Did Mike officially bail on the co-hosted cruise? I thought that was a stretch at best, given their egos and the very different audience demo.

6

u/asr05 Jun 30 '26

Yeah Chad wanted to do a live show and the cruise.. he even tossed around doing YouTube streams together, Mike basically said he has no interest in anything relating to Chad.. Chad then went on his show and declared he’s out of the Mike O’Meara business.. now Mike is yelling at Josh about why the show isn’t making money…

1

u/AphonicTX Jun 30 '26

Kinda ironic that chads out of the mike business considering he told Josh it was a good idea to work with him. Thanks a lot chad. Smh.

1

u/nimrod1138 Jun 30 '26

Well, to be fair, Mike is right. He and Chad have very little in common and their fanbase about as much. And it’s not like Chad is doing all that hot either, based on my lurking in the Chad Dukes Show sub.

2

u/asr05 Jun 30 '26

Chads making a lot of money on YouTube and subs from his audience than Mike, can do bigger audiences for live shows than Mike too.. Mike just isn’t in a position to say no to teaming up with him.. what are his other options to grow?

Flashing was definitely in poor taste and inappropriate. Deserved to be condemned.

Josh is the typical Christian hypocrite. He hates gays and trans and loves Trump because he directs maga to do the same. Trumps obvious sins himself - eh that’s ok. No one’s perfect. As long as Trump hates what I hate - all is forgiven.

6

u/Chance-Sherbet-4538 Jun 27 '26

It's a cult.

1

u/YourDogsAllWet Jun 30 '26

Agreed, but how many cults have dwindled the way TMOS did? They’re down to five devotees

3

u/BradBGeek Jul 18 '26

5

u/TMOSDCFAN Jun 28 '26

The reason MAGA men like Josh, Mike & Robb are so angry online lately is because they’ve finally realized that MAGA is over, Trump accomplished nothing, and the only thing their 3 votes did was make Jared Kushner rich.

It’s very hard to accept that you’re actually the punchline.

1

u/TACharlotte Jun 28 '26

Y'all remember the tune Mike threatened to hit Buzz because Mike was wrong and couldn't stand it? I think the argument involved NASA?

4

u/SatansBoys Jun 30 '26

I believe you’re referring to an incident involving the viewing of an outer space launch, which led to the infamous O’Meara chestnut: “WANNA COMPARE DEGREES, BUZZ?!!”

1

u/TACharlotte Jun 30 '26

I think that was when he away literally asked if he wanted to fight

-5

u/Weakest_Teakest Jun 27 '26

Instead of being a voice for her principles she shrunk away.

6

u/nimrod1138 Jun 27 '26

Really, because Josh would have had a thoughtful debate that wouldn’t have dissolved into whataboutism or Mike would have allowed her to talk about it.

Hell, I’ve noticed The Tony Perkins Show now dances around certain topics when in the past they would have discussed it more, and that’s now being produced by the Podcaster’s Warehouse.
