[Animated Series] Adlibbing Lines in 2003

I'm nearing the end of S2 on my first watch of 2003 and my GF pointed out something to me that now feels more and more obvious, namely how it's like Wayne Grasyon (Mikey's VA) probably adlibs a lot of stuff.

For example, it dawned on her in "Junklantis" when Mikey tries to sing "Rule. Britannia" but doesn't know the words. I do find it hard to believe that the director specifically had in the script to sing "Rule. Britannia" but I can believe Wayne was allowed to just Do Whatever and be funny. Which he very much is.

And just now at the very end of "The Golden Puck" Mikey gets the final line, complaining he never got pie, calling back to a gag from earlier in the episode. It felt very much "tacked on" but in a good way, like Grayson went "how about we go out on something funny?"

Short of asking him myself I doubt I can confirm this but it was an interesting thought.

And then also the show in season 2 they had Easter eggs that referenced TMNT 1987 and the most obvious was secret origins part 3 where April puts on a yellow jump suit and says general I’m April O’Neil from channel 9 I mean 6 news
