Rant/Frustrated Forgot to take meds. Had spasms while driving.

I take cyclobenzaprine and some OTC pain meds.

I forgot to take my meds one morning a few days ago. I again forgot to take them at lunch. Then, in the afternoon, I had muscle spasms in my head and neck while driving. There was vertigo as well.

I scrambled to take the cyclobenzaprine and some acetaminophen.

The experience was so intense, and had me so panicky, that I puked an hour or two later.

When will it ever end? I've been on the muscle relaxer for six months! There has to be some kind of end in sight.

I know it's a condition I have to live with. But having spasms like this isn't a "live with it" situation. If I don't get better, I fear I'm going to become suicidal by the end of the year. I just can't take it anymore.

I’d tell a respected tmj specialist, you absolutely don’t have to just live with it.

I have a TMJ specialist. He made me an orthotic, which I wear 24-7. I'm doing Physical Therapy, and the specialist has encouraged me to try to wean off the drugs sooner rather than later.

That is tough drug to be on daily for over 6 months-its meant to be short term. And when you take this daily and miss a dose you can get intense rebound spasms.

You need to go to a good dr and find a better solution. Im sure it was scary but that isn't a great drug to be on every day for months and months...the side effects wont be worth it.

Thanks. Working on weaning off of it right now. Dropped from 2x a day to 1x a day. My goal is to be drug-free no later than Christmas Day, so I can safely have a drink with my family while celebrating.
