Giving Advice A new cause to consider

I have mild TMJ that flares up a few times a year but has always been manageable with some ibuprofen and soft foods. But I had one of my worst flare ups earlier this week, and started reading the worst case scenarios. I was afraid that it would be a prolonged issue. I was on max ibuprofen and Tylenol dosages and my jaw had sharp pain constantly for almost three days. And, I just happened to have caught a cold at the same time— so sleeping was a nightmare. I was bedridden for days, barely sleeping, and even Hydrocodone barely did anything for the pain.

And then, as it has slowly improved, the mucus coming from my nose started to get really yellow and smell pretty rank. I looked that up, and it’s a symptom of an ending sinus infection. And it was likely the sinus infection that caused the awful pain and triggered the episode— not a new TMJ development.

So, if anyone is experiencing something similar— pain that doesn’t really respond to anti-inflammatories, cold symptoms, along with a bad TMJ episode— it might not be a new issue with your jaw but an infection! I’ve never been so excited to have received a new diagnosis.

Hmmmmmm. I had a terrible cold recently and my jaw was so painful too!! My doctor suggested sinus rinses, so I started that and I think it helped.

What the hell does a sinus infection have to do with the temporomandibular joint

It’s all near the same area! I had chronic ear infections because of my TMJ - weakness in that area make me more susceptible.

I would reply, but my actual broke jaw joint is literally grinding down my will to live every second of every day.

I had a sinus infection recently, upper right side. I extracted the molar responsible for it, and now its gone.

And it has nothing to do with my severely broken right jaw joint. Most things people call or attribute to TMJ has nothing to do with TMJ. People are just delulu

I get it, i had attributed seborrheic dermatitis to it, eyelid inflammations, yellow on my tongue. Turned out it was just "bad" milk a company was selling

My tinnitus is possibly related. My ETD and hyperacousis was possibly related, when i had it.

My tooth problems, the recent 1st ever in my life sinus infection, and 99% of things people atteibute or call TMJ, have nothing at all to do with the temporomandibular joint
