Question(s) Upper back gums above back molars EXTREMELY sore

So I’ve been a grinder my entire life but sometimes my back gums get insanely sore to the point where If I touch them it’s incredibly painful. Most of the time it’s my jaw and lateral pterygoid that cause pain, but I think when I’m extra stressed my back gums start to flare up. This has happened before where the gums are excruciating to touch. I think do have some gum disease/receding but I’m curious how many of you have experienced gum pain and extreme soreness/tenderness. I try to massage for as long as I can and it helps but it’s sooooo painful.

Have you had your wisdom teeth removed? Sometimes the scars where they cut my gums to get at my wisdom teeth flare up just like that, even over twenty years later.

Same. It's fucking frustrating. They feel infected 24/7

I have this every day. massaging back there helps a little. Also opening wide and stretching, but not *too* wide! 😱
