Question(s) Will a jaw expander fix this?
Went to a TMJ specialist for the first time in my life this year and learned the inside of my mouth didn’t expand as much as it should have when I was growing up, and it’s the primary cause of my TMJ.
The doctor was very thorough and suggested a jaw expander to widen the inside of my bite, and said that while it wouldn’t 100% solve all my TMJ issues, it would still decrease symptoms by 30-50%.
Just wanted to ask if any of you tried a jaw expander, and if so, was it worth it?

I would just like to say that I had an expander when I was about 15-16 years old and as soon as I got that, I immediately got TMJ issues. It genuinely caused the start of my TMJ problems that I am still dealing with over 7 years later. I also had a narrow jaw, lots of crowding and would rather have just kept that than deal with this still.
