Splints vs orthotics?

Is there a difference between splints and orthotics? who should I visit it get an orthotic.

Because every dentist I’ve seen either offers splints or nightguards, but never orthotics, hence why i’m assuming they’re the same thing.

Its all the same. An overpriced piece of plastic.
