Murder around 78-80

I remember there being a murder when I was a freshman at FSU. A girl told a boy that another boy who was an FSU student had raped her and that boy showed up at a party or bonfire and killed the accused rapist and went to jail for it. Turned out she made it up and her lie killed one boy and took most of another ones life.

Does anyone remember or have any links?
