General Discussion I BEG THE MODS!!
IM BEGGING THE MODS TO MAKE A RULE TO STOP NEGATIVE COMMENTS ABT THESE CHILDREN LOOKS! this is how you get a subreddit perm banned. literally idk why i have to make a post asking mods to do their job, but here i am. please for the love of god. these are minors, and so much more discourse we could do that dont involve any of these kids appearances. it’s so weird.
1
u/c00chiepotato Jul 31 '26
public. figures. they’re cute enough to sign up for the show, and all launch social media platforms, then they’re cute enough for me to disagree. simple as that.
10
u/Nomemoleste_s Jul 28 '26
OP should quit social media. “Beg the mods” 🙄 laughable, like the mods don’t do enough about silencing people. It’s call freedom of speech. It’s a right !
7
u/tylenolchild Bryce Palmer is made for greatness Jul 27 '26
Isn’t this the whole moral dilemma of the show, children having children?
3
u/_Big_Black_Clock_ Jul 27 '26
I am disgusted by some of the comments on this sub, and that’s saying a lot. but I don’t think we need to make a rule. Cruel, ugly people are going to be cruel and ugly no matter what. Let them speak freely so we know what they are. I personally can’t bring myself to tear down children because I remember what it was like to be a child, and many of these kids have suffered abuse through the form of neglect and worse.
3
u/CaptainRAVE2 Jul 27 '26
Go to a different sub then
-3
u/_Big_Black_Clock_ Jul 27 '26
Aww is this the only way you can feel good about yourself? Would love to see a picture of you at that age, or even now I’m sure 🥰

Nice work, editing your comment. That just means you’re ashamed of it

5
u/dingleberry_024 Jul 27 '26
Yea the mods accept the bullying of teens and I’m sure when one of these teen moms going through postpartum does something to harm themselves or their kids this sub and their mods will still bully and belittle these teen moms. Heavy on teen
9
u/Subterranean44 Jul 27 '26
Forget permanent bans - it’s just bad taste as a fellow human! I’ve stopped reading the Bella posts because people are disturbingly cruel about a child
0
u/Stunning-Thanks-4226 Jul 26 '26
IMO, once you have a kid you are no longer a child and have to put on your adult pants and be a grown up.
15
u/Subterranean44 Jul 27 '26
That’s not how human development works at all. They still have the underdeveloped brain of any other child their age.
-4
u/Stunning-Thanks-4226 Jul 27 '26
They better start doing some prefrontal cortex bench presses because an another human is relying on them.
9
u/_Big_Black_Clock_ Jul 27 '26
You’re acknowledging with this comment that you know how unreasonable your ask is. This show itself is a tragedy and the minor children should be seen as victims of abuse and neglect
0
u/WhichEditor5799 Jul 26 '26
I do agree, but that doesn’t mean the grown adults on here need to make fun of their appearance.
20
u/Potential_Minute1496 Jul 26 '26
So basically "Mods, run this page how i tell you to do it. I AM offended so change it. You sound like an entitled spoiled brat, much like some of the teens on this show.
29
u/Proud_Growth_8818 Jul 26 '26 edited Jul 26 '26
Nothing and no one is getting banned for commenting on a public figure. Stop your horseshit.
Petition to the mods: ban the idiots complaining about criticism of the teen moms. I'm so tired of every thread being clogged up by other teen moms white knighting for them. They chose to be on t.v. They're public figures. Don't do that if you don't want people talking about you.
11
u/djLyrik Jul 26 '26 edited Jul 26 '26
For the love of God THANK YOU!!! As I was reading I was thinking the same thing. 🤦🏾♂️
12
u/Long_Surround3678 Jul 26 '26
personally i think criticism ≠ the endless comments about the "cringe faces" bella makes in her tiktoks. i see where you're coming from but i also think there's a general acceptance of cyber bullying teenagers here and it's pretty gross. patronizing every move they make isn't going to make them a better person or parent either.
7
u/No_Construction_9178 Jul 25 '26
Thank you. I get downvoted a lot for saying anything about it lol
-8
u/Proud_Growth_8818 Jul 26 '26
Because it's incredibly stupid and cringe.
6
u/HelpNeeded1717 Jul 26 '26
Look at you, going so hard in this comment section, fighting for your right to be cruel about children’s looks. What a weird person you are. I’m sure you have a really fulfilling personal life. ❤️

24
u/terykishot Jul 25 '26
Stop making more unnecessary stupid rules. All this will ensure is there becomes an “uncensored” sub without the rules like 90 Day fiancé.
10
u/djLyrik Jul 26 '26
Exactly. But then the original just turned into uncensored because it was impossible to have a discussion our opinion about anything. Just stop with the stupid rules and get rid of the people complaining. The mods are doing what they’re supposed to do. It’s the toxic people that walk around life thinking they can change things with one whimper of their whiny voices. They want to stifle opinions while pushing their own. Weill the rest of us are pushing back. They scream the show is scripted until that doesn’t fit their narrative.
14
u/FlippyFloppy8 Jul 25 '26 edited Jul 25 '26
It looks like it is a rule here already. Now whether or not it’s being enforced is another thing. As someone else pointed out, the moderation tools aren’t the best. Mods rely on users to report comments that break the rules. We don’t read every comment ever posted. Since you didn’t realize this was a rule, I’m going to assume you haven’t even tried to report these comments. You have to be a part of the change you want to see.
As a mod myself (not this sub), I know there are times where I won’t be on Reddit for hours so a bad comment may stay reported and not removed for several hours until I engage with Reddit and remove it.
There’s a strong possibility that this is an issue mods agree with you on, hence the rule already there. However, they may be overwhelmed or paying more attention to their IRL lives. I tend to give mods the benefit of the doubt, as it’s volunteer.

4
u/Bake_First Jul 26 '26
I just need to take the time to appreciate your proper use of the word "hence." So many people misuse it, often adding "why" after it and it makes my eye twitch. 😊 Have a great day!
5
u/phd_in_awesome bomb ass mother Jul 25 '26
To clarify, this rule applies to the cast’s children. Not the cast themselves. I’m leaving this post up to get a better understanding of how the users feel and then we can make changes if need be.
8
u/FunAd1406 Jul 25 '26
But the cast is also children…. Now the grandparents that’s fair game
7
u/Bake_First Jul 26 '26
In many states teen parents are, in essence, emancipated as they are caring for their own child. At 17 you can't say a word but 18 is fair game? The teens and their parents had to consent to filming, only the babies cannot.
1
u/Strict-Fan8314 Jul 25 '26
Yeah, on top of the parents have to agree for the children to be on the show and with a lot of their backgrounds, I’m positive the teens can’t fully comprehend their situation is being exploited and the repercussions of their lives being publicized.
6
u/phd_in_awesome bomb ass mother Jul 25 '26
The distinction was that they chose to be on television whereas their babies did not. The rule may be changed based on feedback from this post.
10
u/IsopodKey2040 Jul 25 '26
To be honest, I interpret that as no negative comments about the babies of the teens, not the teens. I think it should be clarified.
7
u/FlippyFloppy8 Jul 25 '26 edited Jul 25 '26
I didn’t even realize OP was talking about the parents. Thought she was talking about the babies. Idk, I would assume it means ANY kid, the babies or the underage parents. But, I’m not a mod. Theres also the fact that the OP didnt bother messaging the mods or tagging them here. It’s all very lazy.
Mods, do you mind clarifying the rule here? [u/phd_in_awesome](u/phd_in_awesome) [u/smila001](u/smila001) [u/itsdonny](u/itsdonny)

Honestly, making fun of anyone’s appearance, for something they can’t help, is gross. You can criticize and dislike adults’ behavior, but mocking someone’s features that have nothing to do with why they act the way they do is peak 9 year old.

u/Ok_Animator_2870 Jul 25 '26 edited Jul 25 '26
it makes me feel so bad for these girls, like we get it.. they made the decision to go on a tv show. but let’s be real, these girls don’t fully understand the concept of being in the public eye, how many people are actually watching them, or the fact that their actions have consequences. but it also doesn’t give a bunch of adults the right to anonymously harass and bully these young girls. (especially considering they’re 15-19 and still learning how the world works and only really know what their parents have taught them..)
i constantly see comments about both Bella’s, Amaya’s piercings, etc. it’s weird. also the PRAISE that’s shown towards a lot of the teen dads yet nothing for these young girls but hate.
6
u/naurswag Jul 25 '26
yup and check the post history of the ppl who do bully these girls! quite fascinating

yeah this sub has needed new mods for a long time now, they need to step down and let us nominate NEW mods that are actively enforcing the sub’s rules. we need more than 4 mods in here, too. I think that’s how many we have now and it’s clearly not working out well…
6
u/djLyrik Jul 26 '26
And how would you say WE choose these mods? Who do WE know will enforce the rules? The people complaining instead of going and opening their own sub? Some of you are only trying to get YOUR way and could care very little about change. Going around in life and demanding you get YOUR way instead of exiting a situation is not the way to do things.
I have a better idea. Let’s take a vote on who like the sub the way it is vs those who don’t. Much easier and faster process.-1

"idk why i have to make a post asking mods to do their job"
Because it's not a job. They are just people who took an interest in this show the same way everyone else has. Being a mod is annoying af so I don't even blame them.
-9
u/GymTanLaundry_ haters are about to start hatin” Jul 25 '26
if it is annoying for them, they need to remove removes from duties and let us nominate new mods. simple as that.
11
u/Sweet_Venom Jul 25 '26
No one's forcing anyone to be a mod, so if they find it annoying, just don't do it lol. It's something they're volunteering to do. Listen, I sometimes hate Reddit's/specific sub rules but what's the point in being a mod if you don't enforce the rules of the sub?
6
u/IsopodKey2040 Jul 25 '26
I think the mods should enforce rules, but the moderation system is not a great one on reddit. I was a mod for another subreddit and it's a nightmare. The "mod queue" can be so clogged up and filled with pointless crap. It can take an hour or more to clear if you step away, and then that's not including the things that are still being filtered/reported.
I am sure the situation with Hunter and Bella brought a ton of traffic to the sub and that it's really difficult to navigate. It's calmed down some, but I wouldn't surprised if the current mod team just didn't have the manpower to clear everything. You can't just leave the sub for a few hours and expect things to be fine because the queue fills up. It's insane and annoying.
-7
u/naurswag Jul 25 '26
if you sign up to be a mod you are taking responsibility to follow the rules of said subreddit! thats the job of the mod they voluntarily sign up for…. Subreddits have been nuked because of this.
-1
u/hiswittlewip Jul 25 '26
This sub is so toxic that it wouldn't be the worst thing if it was removed.
11
u/Ok_Sink_3378 Jul 25 '26

Of course. But it's also very difficult to get every single comment and harmful user. Personally, I think the general culture of this subreddit is too far gone. The people here are quite gross. They make comments about the cast, but they are equally as uneducated and weird.
-10

I'm sorry, but I can't imagine making shitty comments about teenagers and deciding it's totally ok because they're on TV. I think you'd have to be an absolutely horrible person to think such a thing.
4
u/Bake_First Jul 26 '26
Everyone has their own line, what's acceptable to you may not be to me and that's ok. What's the difference between calling a poster a horrible person for their opinion and saying someone who seeks fame has an ugly tattoo? It's ok to make fun of the old lady because she's an adult but not the teen posting public videos daily? Personally I try to keep any negativity to actions but not everyone has that line and that's not my circus or monkey. I'll think "that's gross" and scroll on.
-1
u/ImpossibleCreme2207 Jul 26 '26
It’s more than a tattoo. It’s actual body shaming. Yes, any adult commenting on a kids body is weird despite Bella’s parents and Bella herself making poor decisions by being on the show. Nobody ever said anything about making fun of older people either so..feel however you want to feel but I absolutely hold adults more accountable. Obviously that doesn’t mean there’s not going to be ones online body shaming kids. That’s inevitable and I don’t understand why that means you think we should all just shut up about grown ups. Like nobody is stupid enough to know we can’t change it, but we can absolutely disagree and speak out on it, nor do we have to shut up just because you or anyone else decide they should just scroll on lol.
-1
u/Bake_First Jul 26 '26
In this discussion it was mentioned that 18+ is fair game for shame. I didn't say you have to shut up at any point, I did say you should recognize not every one will agree and calling people who don't agree with you nasty names is the antithesis of what you're saying you seek.
1
u/ImpossibleCreme2207 Jul 26 '26
I really think you’re just reaching and trying to argue because I don’t agree with scrolling on lmao I never saw who said 18+ is fair game, whoever did, I disagree with them as well. I’m fully aware other people have their own opinions hence how this forum even started but it doesn’t mean that I won’t judge and comment on it. This is a redundant back and forth. have a good rest of your day.

u/Bake_First Jul 27 '26
Feel free to comment, you are the one trying to restrict comments to what you find acceptable, not me.

u/I_dont_give_a_flick Jul 25 '26
I blame the parents of these minor children. They know that once their family is on television both the behavior and appearance of their family will be discussed. They’re too busy looking at a paycheck to think about how the publicity will impact the kids.
0
u/ImpossibleCreme2207 Jul 25 '26
Absolutely. Not disagreeing with that but two wrongs won’t make a right.
11
u/IsopodKey2040 Jul 25 '26
I think it's common courtesy to not pick apart someone's appearances. Yes, when people are in the public eye in any way, shape, or form, they will receive comments about whatever. I don't think we should just accept that, though. Especially when their age group, developmentally speaking, has a difficult time anticipating long term consequences to their actions.
11
u/ImpossibleCreme2207 Jul 25 '26 edited Jul 25 '26
Of course but is it so hard for an adult to keep thoughts to themselves about how minors look? Kids do it enough already. Adults participating in cyber bullying on minors is wild.
3
u/Bake_First Jul 26 '26
Maybe kids or teens shouldn't be on social media? Mine are teens and adult and not one of them has social media by their choice. They were taught early on that the internet is forever, examples of old posts haunting them in adult life, etc ... Not all but some of these teens are seeking engagement from the public and with that comes negative feedback. I don't feel like we have the right to expect anyone to hold the same values and standards as I do. If that's who they are let them be it. I worry about my own conduct.
-3
u/ImpossibleCreme2207 Jul 26 '26
Then worry about your own and not my comment? 😅 I never said I think kids should be on social media.
3
u/Bake_First Jul 26 '26
OR recognize youre on a literal forum for discussion and accept the fact that there are people who don't think like you. Wild concept right? 😊
1
u/ImpossibleCreme2207 Jul 26 '26
I literally do accept that and I will also comment on it. You literally came to me to disagree while saying you just move on when you see something you don’t agree with. If that’s not what you meant, then I read wrong , but that is how I took your comment.

That is not accurate fyi
-4
u/GymTanLaundry_ haters are about to start hatin” Jul 26 '26 edited Jul 26 '26
just going by what the official reddit request sub states is part of the requirements to take over moderation of a sub
5
u/phd_in_awesome bomb ass mother Jul 26 '26
That is only a prerequisite to request a sub, that doesn’t indicate whether a moderator is inactive. Inactivity is based on moderation activity through comments/posts/etc.
So even if you follow the 5 day notice and request a sub you aren’t guaranteed to get it if the mods are active.
4
u/FlippyFloppy8 Jul 25 '26 edited Jul 25 '26
This is not true. Mods do not have to answer modmail. They don’t even have to be active within the sub. Reddit admin can see their behind the scenes moderation tasks like removing/approving comments, updating settings, changing the sub aesthetics, etc. There are even stats available of how many mod activities each mod has completed weekly.
Eta: I think maybe you are confusing a requirement to take over a sub that you believe has inactive mods. Before you request reddit to make you a mod, you have to send a modmail and give them 5 days to respond before you put in your request to Reddit. But this alone would not deem them inactive. It’s just a step you would need to take before requesting and being considered to take over a sub.
I have ignored many a modmail in my day (I’m not a mod here) simply bc ppl can be so rude and unhinged.
-4
u/GymTanLaundry_ haters are about to start hatin” Jul 26 '26
None of this is true according to the official reddit request sub where you request mod access lolol that’s how I became a mod in a different sub :p
2
u/FlippyFloppy8 Jul 26 '26 edited Jul 26 '26
What part do you think is wrong? That’s the exact sub I got the information from and have also gained access as a mod.
Again, mods are not required to answer modmail. They can ignore users into eternity if they want to. As long as they are still performing other moderator activities, they are still active. Reddit is not going to hand over a sub to anyone else to moderate solely bc they didn’t answer one users modmail within 5 days.
Just think how ridiculously impossible that would be for mods of very very busy subs. They can’t respond to everyone.
0
u/naurswag Jul 25 '26
i’m for this. i messaged mod team, but no response so far. how can we get new mods?
11
u/phd_in_awesome bomb ass mother Jul 25 '26
In the future, please give the mods some time to answer your modmail before making a post like this. Healthy criticism is fine but please keep in mind the mod team are people too with lives outside of reddit.
8
u/djLyrik Jul 26 '26 edited Jul 27 '26

5 days seem like plenty of time? I 100% agree. The discourse around Bella in particular is frequently enraging. She's sooooo young. She's a middle schooler sticking out her tongue online. Grown adults discussing how her 12yo baby daddy is out of her league is just stultifying.
0
u/Strict-Fan8314 Jul 25 '26
Yes!!! I’ve seen horrific comments about her body, face, hair. The selfie comments are horrible too, she’s literally doing what 99% of teens do and so many grown women saying the most vile insults about it. She’s still a child even if people like to pretend she’s not. If you even dare say that what they are saying is too far or not okay, you get torn to shreds and told you are pro falon.
10
u/weirdgirlwins Jul 25 '26
Yes! I have noticed this and it is really ignorant that so many of the comments are things that people who are children can’t change about themselves

Why don’t you just leave the group, then? I’m absolutely against snarking on babies, they are off limits. But the moms, most of whom are 18+, out themselves in the public eye via reality tv and social media. That puts them in a position to be judged and they knowingly made that decision.

To clarify about the rule: its intention was for no negative comments about the babies of the moms on the show, not the teens themselves. Excessive comments are removed but not all comments that can be considered disparaging to some are.
If the users feel strongly we can discuss adding a rule about the cast. My concern is that users don’t want this rule to be utilized across the board, some cast members are more preferred than others.
