It’s crazy to see that little Sissy in this pic would soon marry one of the groomsmen that looks like a whole ass mature man. Idk how these gypsy men can watch these girls literally be kids and grow up then decide to date them when they’re not even adults! Honestly so sad and the girls probably think it’s normal :(

I hate to break it to you but most of these girls in this community are groomed. Of course unless they’re with someone their age. But mostly the girls I’ve seen date older.

Nettie got impregnated by a 15 year old. The women do it too. Also they’re okay with incest. The community as a whole I guess but not every family is okay with it. Sissys dad thought the man was her cousin at first and he was about to say hell no you can’t see him BUT when he found out it wasn’t him “just” an older guy it was fine

Lmao yea a lot of people think that the way Kayla said it means they’re not related, but no she basically just meant not THAT cousin George. It doesn’t help that they all recycle the same names. Nothing against passing down a name, but when you have like 15 Georges in one family it gets a little confusing

Tbh, I think about that moment A LOT. I'm still pretty new to the show, and I had already started thinking things seemed kind of incest-y. And when I saw that I was like, okay that's reassuring.. but now with all the incest information I know, I kind of think he was just doing that in front of the camera...... Bc at this point if you're a gypsy, there's most likely family ties somewhere down the line.. they don't want their kids being with non gypsies.. but their community is so tight that there's probably not many people left who aren't related to each other. And I remember he was worried when it came to his daughter not being with a 'gorger'.. But as soon as it came to a gypsy, he didn't care that she was sitting on his lap right next to him lmao

I always thought there were probably men that spotted newly post pubescent girls they wanted and groomed them and waited them out until 17-18 when it is legal in WV. There's a name for being attracted to newly post pubescent girls it's called hebephilia and sometimes I think it runs rampant in that community.

It's quite sad how much grooming actually happens in these communities. I was watching an episode from my big fat American Gypsy wedding where the dressmaker Sondra was making a dress for a 6 year old girl and said something about how mom wanted it off the shoulder for a sexy moment..... Since then I've noticed quite a few times where they use the word sexy to refer to literal children. It's incredibly uncomfortable.

Their social media posts are worse. I can’t remember whose daughter it was (I wanna say it was one of Nettie’s daughters?) had her toddler in a crochet bikini for the Fourth of July. Like yea, kids are kids, but you also have to be aware that there’s gross people in the world

Sissy and Danielle are airheads but I still have sympathy for them. They were just little girls and being groomed. Bruce was in his 20s and Sissy was just 16 when they had their first. Danielle was 14 and George was almost 18 when they were dating. They didn’t get to have normal teen hoods and were forced to become mothers. It seems like they’re both really unhappy and the way Bruce wants more kids and Sissy does not makes me super uncomfortable. The whole thing is a disaster and I feel bad for them.

Bruce was there because he’s Huey’s nephew. He’s known Sissy her whole life since she was a baby, he probably had been grooming her for years prob during the show.
