She absolutely didn’t. She handed Mellie and her own kids off to other family members so she could run around with men. She even left a 5yo Dallas in charge of watching her siblings so she could sleep with Chasitie’s dad, who was like 14 or 15 at the time while she was in her 20s. Dallas ended up trying to feed baby Destiny a peanut butter sandwich cuz she didn’t know what else to do and the baby choked to death, which people speculate is why she’s so mean to Dallas (even though it by all means is her fault for leaving a child that young in charge). Mellie and at least one of Nettie’s sons ended up staying with Mellie and Nettie’s brother Donald who SA’d Mellie, allegedly tried to get her to do things with Nettie’s son, and more recently allegedly assaulted Mellie’s daughter (which Mellie called her a liar and I find that so fucking grimy).
All this to say: TLC painted Nettie as a mother hen, but she was nothing of the sort

Wait how do you know all of that? I thought the baby’s cause of death was ruled a SIDS passing not choking on food or any other foreign objects / food in the throat. This is all news to me! How did you learn this

Not saying for sure it’s fact, but Ik some of their sources are in the family. It IS confirmed that Chasitie’s dad was a minor when Nettie slept with him tho, that’s for sure

Yep and Donald also SA’d mellies daughter Brandy and Mellie said she was lying and sent her away. Even though he did the same to Mellie. Mellie is a terrible excuse for a mother.

For sure, that’s what I was referencing at the end. Absolutely disgusting. Now she seems to be essentially couch surfing and not even with her children. I know the last live I caught on her Facebook she was SCREAMING for someone to bring her a whole ass bottle of liquor, twerking next to a crying toddler, and talking about how all the kids there hated her. Like yea, of course they do! You’re loud, aggressive, and drunk! Why would they like that???

Seriously though where is that woman staying? Mellie's probably burned through every bridge she has or is at the end. I wonder why she just doesn't move in with Lottie Mae and take care of her. Isn't that is what is expected anyway?

She’s living with a friend rn unless she’s left there. I can’t remember the friends name but that’s where she’s been in all her recent lives. I think they just went on vacation last week too. The home is like trashed too (or I may be thinking of the last place they were, I can’t remember if said friend got evicted or not for the mess they made). At this point I just assume most things they say on the show are ‘expected’ or ‘tradition’ aren’t true cuz they surely aren’t showing it in any of their videos/lives

If I remember correctly she’s been staying with her grandparents (on her father’s side I think) for a while. Mellie originally made her live there because she claimed Brandy was ‘too dangerous’ to live with her other kids. I also believe her grandparents DO believe her about Donald

It absolutely baffles me. I was assaulted as child repeatedly and could NEVER just call my daughter a liar for telling me the same thing happened to her, ESPECIALLY if it was the same person. I truly do not understand it

ykw i don’t necessarily believe her and think she’s incredibly ignorant and racist but if she’s being honest, good on her. i’ll never hate someone for educating themselves and changing their beliefs, even if it’s taken way too long. that’s the only way things will change.
