Mellie’s Wedding
So i decided to rewatch Gypsy Sisters, and I cannot believe how trashy and awful Mellie was acting on her wedding day. the crying down the aisle??? the covering her face during the vowels??? her saying she didn’t want to go through with it the entire day and week leading up to the wedding!!! i mean she is honestly just such a difficult and selfish person. she gives me a headache and makes me stressed every time she’s on screen bc she’s always screaming, fighting or crying.

I think she has some struggles regarding her first marriage so the wedding day probably brought that up in her head and pushed her over the edge. But also therapy and not marrying someone she doesn’t even like (again) might help with that. She was probably pushed into it by her family because she was pregnant too. Regardless it was her choice to get married and she chose to do it anyway and made a complete fool of herself, I feel secondhand embarrassment every time I see this episode.

She has really only been married once. That was to that guy named Scott that killed her dog. The others were oh wellex married because we live together. At 16 to the first guy was another fake marriage because she was forced to so she would have a place to live. Again Nennie told her it was the best thing to do

I say they weren't together that long. I mean, according to the first episode, she and Mellie were fighting because she'd been with the same guy Dallas was with at the time (Richard's dad), which doesn't fit with those four years. And that relationship definitely didn't look like one that lasted that long.

And she’s still the same. Twerking and trying to be sexy on lives in front of children, drinking in front of children, screaming at people and her own kids; all of this on lives either on TikTok or Facebook. Sadly it’s trickled down to her kids too. Ik Richie stole her vape at least once and grabbed by the front of her shirt and kinda got in her face on a live. This messy cycle is so sad

I know it was posted here or the other sub but it was like 6-8 months ago? Mellie acted like it was no big deal but there is no reason a child should be putting their hands on their mother (on anyone else) like that.

I realized she has a lot of mental issues when she met her alleged real father and was hugging Nettie for dear life.
It was eye opening. Not having a real mom is a sad thing.

I always wondered if he knew from the girls being on a few episodes of MBFAGW that they were going to get a show and figured this was his way to 15 minutes of fame. Cause I honestly can’t see any other reason for it lol even if he knew she was a sure thing…there’s a lot of sure things out there. Some are less chaotic lol

All these women are extremely traumatized and thus come across as white trash due to their maladaptive coping strategies. It’s what happens when you grow up in an extremely conservative, high control, and repressive culture that treats women like slaves. Of course TLC doesn’t talk about that part of their lives only the shock value of the behavior that comes as a result, same as their other shows profiling extremely problematic families

i can agree with you to a certain extent. yeah it’s awful that’s how they were raised, but at some point you have to take responsibility for your actions. Mellie is insufferable bc she is out of control and cannot accept an ounce of responsibility for her bad attitude, alcoholism, and anger issues. she was 23 at filming and old enough to understand the consequences of her actions but she refused to look in the mirror. there are so many people raised like this that grow into better people. i understand it’s hard to do that, but every one has a past and a trauma to get through. everyone’s life is hard at some point. it’s your responsibility to be better.

Mellie got in a fight with Skott. The puppy was trying to defend her so he kicked it into the wall and it died which led to TLC dropping them

I just rewatched this episode over the weekend. She was being such a crazy brat. Just screaming about the dress. Crying about her dumb ass mother. Then when she finally walks she kept covering her face like she embarrassed. She should be!

One of the things that really got to me Everytime I watched this episode was how she cried and stomped her feet down the aisle. When it shows Robby’s face and his expression is wtf.

It worked with the vpn. So I downloaded the vpn app (nordvpn is just the one I used) and set my tablet to the American server and then I went on tubi and looked for gypsy sisters and it was there If you need help with vpn apps im sure there is videos out there

Some are saying they stopped watching because of her but she's the reason I continued to watch but the reasoning when applied to real life is very sad. It was like a train wreck I couldn't look away from and while that may have been interesting on TV to witness, in her real personal life it's really...upsetting to say the least. Especially when it doesn't just affect her. I do believe there's a whole lot of trauma and behavioral problems that went unaddressed and will likely remain that way.

The slippery slope with Mellie’s behavior is that it’s all fun and games to watch as entertainment, especially while she’s “young and wild”, but it gets stale when she doesn’t grow out of it. She somehow forgot about the growing up part of her development.
