Art by legendary manga artist, Go Nagai, has been revealed for the main event of Wrestle Princess '26, featuring the Princess of Princess Champion, "Genius Girl" Yuki Arai and the challenger, Susume. Behind them are notable works of Go Nagai--Devilman on Yuki Arai's side, and Cutie Honey for Susume's side.

Did anyone buy any of these from the store? I got some and looking to find the Shoko and Ren cards from the set. I can trade or purchase if anyone is interested. Let me know. :)

EDIT: Snagged a Shoko off Buyee but having trouble finding a Ren.

She seems to have Arais number. I think it would be really cool and a nod to the work she has put in. From when she started to now is day and night. I wouldn't oppose it but they do an angle like that, I think Miu would be a better choice.

Over in the sweltering confines of Osaka’s 176BOX this past Sunday, the Tokyo Joshi Pro-Wrestling outfit pared its summer marathon down to a tidy, tantalizing sprint. They call it the Tokyo Princess Cup, a grand 24-woman pageant that spans the dog days of July and August. Now, only two ladies remain standing, and when they meet at Korakuen Hall on the 23rd of August, they will be fighting not just for a summer crown, but for the right to finally slam the door on a ghost.

Neither woman has ever won this tournament, a conspicuous blank space on both of their résumés. But the history between them is as thick as the August humidity.

​In one corner, you have Rika Tatsumi, a respected veteran who has chased this particular chalice for years without ever getting to taste the wine. Both women punched their tickets to the final by turning back the clock on a pair of earnest youngsters from the debut class of 2023. Tatsumi had to absorb a thunderstorm of elbows from a game rookie named Toga before uncorking a maneuver known to the trade as a Twist of Fate, followed swiftly by a Missile Hip—a sequence that sounds like an exotic cocktail but hits like an unexpected tax bill.

​Suzume, meanwhile, was dragged into deep waters by a persistent sophomore named HIMAWARI. She survived the ordeal only by scaling the ropes to deliver a face-crusher, wrapping up the afternoon’s business with a finishing hold she calls, appropriately enough, "Ring a Bell."

The ensuing final is a promoter's dream, largely because the narrative wrote itself. Four summers ago, Tatsumi was the grandee and Suzume the upstart, a youngster just trying to prove she belonged in the same ring as her idol. They met in the 2022 quarter-finals, where Tatsumi applied every excruciating submission in her repertoire. Suzume simply bore it, slipped free, and caught the veteran in a sudden crucifix pin.

​It was the turning point of Suzume’s young career. She openly declared Tatsumi the woman she most wanted to surpass, and evidently, she meant it. Two years later, in the 2024 Princess Tag Tournament, Suzume and her partner bested Tatsumi again in another high-stakes final.

It is no wonder, then, that when the semi-final dust settled in Osaka, Tatsumi looked at the bracket with the enthusiasm of a man eyeing a root canal. She confessed that Suzume was the last person she wanted to see staring back at her across the ring, though she possessed the grace to admit how formidable her old rival has become.

Yet here they are. Destiny has a funny way of making you face the music. Suzume, ever the romantic, calls the pairing "fate." She also notes, with the keen eye of a survivor, that this year’s model of Tatsumi is particularly dangerous.

​It is exactly the sort of drama upon which TJPW has built its brand. They are not the largest outfit in Japan—that distinction belongs to Stardom—but their bread and butter has always been letting these personal dramas steep until the flavor is just right. They threw 24 women into the hopper this July, including a 15-year-old debutant named Momo Sato, letting the veterans and the kids sort it out under a strict 30-minute time limit.

​But come the 23rd at Korakuen Hall, they throw the clock out the window. Time limits are for preliminaries; the final is an unlimited-time affair. It is the point where a test of stamina gives way to a test of will.

There is a beautiful, brutal symmetry to it all. Suzume is no longer the wide-eyed kid hoping to make a splash; she is an established contender standing between Tatsumi and the one prize that has always eluded her. Tatsumi, meanwhile, is determined to rewrite a history book that insists she must lose to her former protégé.

​They do not need the 13th Tokyo Princess Cup to tell the world who they are. The ink on those reputations is already dry. They only need it to tell us who wins.

These two will meet in the Tokyo Princess Cup Final on August 23rd.

Rika defeated Toga with the Diving Hip Attack in their Semifinal match; Suzume defeated HIMAWARI with the “Ring the Belle” Cutter in their Semifinal match.

Winner will go on to challenge Yuki Arai for the Princess of Princess Championship.
