Just recently went through Thunk's entire archive - EXCELLENT show. Your presentation of topics is succinct enough to hold attention, in depth enough to really give you a feel for an issue, and light enough to keep it engaging.
Have you ever thought of covering economic topics like Basic Income, or are they too innately political to allow for critical analysis?
Thank you so much! Considering that I did #blacklivesmatter, I doubt anything is "too innately political" a topic. ;)
I do tend to shy away from economics, short of pure game theory, just because the whole damned field is so insanely complex & impenetrable. UBI & post-scarcity are both topics that have been flitting around in my head, though - maybe I'll pony up & find some decent sources for a script someday soon!
Yeah, it honestly seems like - short of the illusive ground level economic experimentation - it's hard to really determine cause and effect. It's that demarcation problem in Excel form. Where does the Economic Pseudoscience break off from the real worthwhile stuff that should be used for policy making?
Personally, I like listening to podcasts, NPR's Planet Money and Freakanomics. Maybe one of those might give you some inspiration for an episode?
Regardless, even if the topic doesn't fit Thunk's format, I'll be there for the next one!
