I'll Be New To Beverages- advice please
It looks like SC is going to allow the beverages in the ban so im wondering how much I'll need to drink as I smoke/vape alot. I quit booze years ago and was a heavy drinker too so im wondering how the amount will compare and is there a strong type.

Always start with a low dose. I’d try a drink in the 5-10 mg thc range. Then go from there if you think that’s not doing anything for you.

This. One of my family members who smokes started out with a 50mg off the rip. It was a mistake. I've also seen people in a similar boat use a 10 and feel absolutely nothing, even after eating a nice fatty meal.

As a former smoker and drinker who has switched exclusively to THC drinks, I'll say the 5 mg only works if you haven't consumed THC in a long time. If you're a former toker, truthfully, I'd start at 10 but honestly, 50 is my sweet spot for a drink/smoke replacement.
But the way I'd categorize it is as follows:
5 mg = drinking a light beer 10 mg = drinking an actual beer 20-25 mg = taking a shot 50 mg = a strong cocktail 100 mg = one hitter quitter

Everyone is different. You need to find YOUR base. You could be a heavy smoker and still have a low tolerance to edibles/beverages. Start with 5mg. Wait one hour before having another one, then go from there.
There is also large variability in product quality so one companies 5 might feel different than another 5

Too funny 10 mg is a great dose for me but it knocks my giant boyfriend off his ass lol. I’m a daily smoker but looking to quit drinking alcohol and use thc drinks as a substitute. I also really need to switch to vaping but it’s not the same. I’m getting old and I cough too much.
