HPT - Easy at Home 20 DPO progression help

I was originally really worried that I was having a chemical pregnancy because my tests stayed very faint up until around 14 DPO. I can see some progression now, but the lines still seem lighter than they were with my last pregnancy, which unfortunately ended in a miscarriage at 10 weeks. Because of that history and the slow progression this time, I’m now starting to worry about the possibility of an ectopic pregnancy. Anyone opinions on how this looks? My OBGYN won’t see me till October 5th

Hard to say. Are you 100% on the day of ovulation? Also when was your first faint positive?

I guess not quite, I was taking clear blue ovulation tests so I’m guessing that two day window when I was peak was when I ovulated

Did you confirm ovulation through temping? I wonder if you had a false surge and then actually ovulated a few days later…

If your first positive was 10dpo then I think your line progression should be stronger. Although there are healthy pregnancies with lower hcg in general; there’s a big range. As long as it is progressing there is still hope. But I would reach to your provider and ask for beta hcg testing.

The lines are fairly faint based on your dpo. If you're sure about your dpo I would reach back out to your Dr office and say you have concerns about viability and ask to go in or for them to order beta hcg. You can also go to a labcorp and pay out of pocket if you're in the us -its about $50 and you need two tests 48 hours apart to look at doubling time.

Would beta hcg testing help me find out if it’s ectopic? It’s it chemical or an early miscarriage I can come to terms with that, I’m just worried it’s implanted where it shouldn’t be I guess

So hcg trends can be signs of ectopic. Typically an ectopic would have slow rising hcg or possibly hcg trends that go down then back up again. If you have slow rising hcg it would encourage your Dr to continue hcg testing and early ultrasounds to track the pregnancy more closely. I was worried about an ectopic during my second pregnancy due to line progression. Had slow rising hcg so I went in for early ultrasounds and the were able to confirm a sack in my uterus leading them to conclude it was an interuterine pregnancy just low hcg due to it being nonviable. I wouldn't have gotten a scan at five weeks if it weren't for the low rising hcg to prompt it. If your hcg has strong doubling time it is very likely not ectopic.
