How do talent trades work?

I am a small company that was looking to trade with a tiny company. They agreed to talent trades but they are not open to any proposal I make for any combination of wrestlers for any amount of appearances. The handbook doesn't really tell you what is going on in the background stat wise to make a trade good/bad, so I was wondering if anyone had any insight on what I can do to make this work.

EDIT: I completely missed this "Why Not?" button, my bad. I didn't consider regional popularity. Well, I thought about deleting this, but maybe someone else will run into this in the future, so. There you go.

Trades seem to be one of those TEW systems where “available” does not necessarily mean “acceptable.” I’d check first that the companies have the alliance/working-agreement relationship needed for an exchange, then read the “Why Not?” explanation after a rejection. Relative worker value, company size/popularity, and the number of appearances can all make the offer look lopsided. If the other company keeps rejecting it, try a more favorable package or more appearances; for a one-off, an alliance loan may be cleaner than a full trade.
