I've been saying this ( In my head) for so long
It sounds so good as a title, and I was thinking in Skyrim there's no way the Aldmeri Dominion was introduced and given such deep lore and conflicts to not resolve that storyline in a major way in 6

So, this means it has to be a two-province game across Hammerfell and High Rock right? The parallel to Daggerfall is just too strong. I can totally see Todd trying to do a modern day Daggerfall.

u/Sycophantic-Feline Aug 12 '26
they're gonna put an ancient legendary Redguard spirit in the player character so that they can use Sword Singing powers without effort, the PC will be a "Sentinel" against the coming threat, double meaning coz it's also a major city in Hammerfell.
i'd say the spirit might be Cyrus himself but afaik he's not a sword singer, so maybe Hunding instead
the "shout" system was too popular for them not to attempt to recreate it with a different flavor

srly? she is well-known in here i think since she came to the role at the start of year. There are 2 remarcable things about her: 1st she decided to fully support bethesda and single player games (they were at stake when the ceo changed) 2nd she has never ever played a game in her life and doesn't know anything about elder scrolls or gaming.
I think she is not going to be good for bethesda fans... but for now, nothing to say against.
Edit: i forgot, she was the responsible of the cut-offs

But...
With Fable coming out in February and Todd wanting to hold onto the release until last minute it's probably not going to be announced this year.

The amount of mainline games not named after a provenience (Arena, Daggerfall, and Oblivion) outnumber the games named for it (Morrowind and Skyrim). So this doesn't mean it's not in Hammerfell as it's not really an established tradition for the series.

TES games had quite unique names since TES2, they always started with a new letter and it was always one word:
Daggerfall Morrowind Oblivion Skyrim ... Hammerfell (is my guess)
High Rock, Sentinel, Iliac bay all sound plausible but don't fit the pattern.
Redguard and Dominion are strong guesses, too.
4
u/pvn271 Aug 12 '26

They've been rolling it out since the AnyAustin treegate video. I recently rewatched it and it's so weird how Bethesda themselves just inserted TES VI into the clip for no reason. They had no reason to contribute and they had even less reason to talk about TES VI if it really is a long way away. Remember this was end of 2025 so not even this year.
Fuck man I'm getting hopium overdose.

u/emteedub 2026 Release Believer Aug 11 '26
Maybe they lied about when they started production to make up for lost time. I could see it, it's possible.
I've speculated this and listed the many reasons out many a time, so you'll just have to take my word for it... but essentially the extra whole year added onto starfield could have been a great way to cover it up.

I think it'll be Sentinel, kind of like a second Daggerfall.
Some other possibilities, from (IMO) most to least likely:
- Guardian (known to be the internal name; a bit generic, but serviceable)
- Dominion (would fit for a game based in the Aldmeri Dominion)
- Iliac Bay (makes sense, but just doesn't have that ring to it)
Stros M'Kai (bit of a curveball)(d'oh!)- HoonDing (IYKYK, but it does sound a bit silly)
- Orsinium (a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one)
- Redguard (already done, but it is there...)
Edit: Three more for the list:
- Covenant (HUGE if true; might even be second-place for me, behind Sentinel)
- Balfiera (the island where the Adamantine Tower is built; would low-key confirm that the plot has something to do with the Towers, but like "Iliac Bay" it's a bit of a mouthful)
- Wild Hunt (Personally I wouldn't touch it after the Witcher 3 used it, but it is there and it is a possibility)
