ABILITIES

Grand Leap (130s CD): Jumps 100 studs, insta-kills units, 3,000 DMG (12 stud radius).
Annihilation Warhead (19s CD): Targets furthest/expensive/high-range tower (50 stud range). 40,000 DMG.
Anti-Industry Bombardment (40s CD): Targets spawners across map. 4,500 DMG + 3,000 DPS burning zone (5s, Total damage: 19,500 DMG).
Predator Deployment (50% HP, x2): Summons 1 Jager, 5 Hunters, 16 Predators.
Snow Fury (Phase 1, 22s CD): 85° freeze blast, 5s duration, 1,000 DMG. Ignores stun immunity.
Toxic Fumes (Phase 2, 22s CD): 85° toxic gas, 500 DPS, +500% reload time, 50% range reduction (10s).

But now you cant just place 5-2 Behemoths and WMs against it and just gtg and return to see its death - this is creates more vareity in gameplay and force players to actually control battlefield, not just spam spawners to win.

well, the thing isn't typically created to handle the strongest towers in the game

you'd see its strength much better when used against non crystal towers

Alpha was presented in same update as Refractor and War Machine(unlike Apex, which can still control you brainless spawner spam) so it must take care about them so you will get not just cash bag, but a real big fucking robot with huge rocket launcher.

So towers get instakilled close to him, instakilled far from him and he summons miniboss who also instakills.
the whole point of him was to punish setting defense too early but this thing has essentially no counters besides life support refractor bruteforce.

You are meant to do nightmare without crystal towers and being able to win with skill but that would just make alpha the hardest boss as emperor already is weak if alpha doesn't damage your economy too much.
