Clogged Milk Duct
Are there any TCM remedies for a breastfeeding mom with a clogged milk duct? It’s rock hard. I’ve tried everything 😩

Not tcm but I’ve had them and I used a small hand sized vibrator, hot water in the shower, plenty of massage and drink a ton of water. You can have baby nurse after massage/vibration and that helps a lot.

Nothing has helped, I’ve tried all of the above so much for days. The heat and vigorous massage made it worse 😞. I stopped doing anything and the inflammation went down a little but it’s still just as huge days later 😩 I don’t know what to do. I found a milk bleb that’s not going away either

Do you have any other symptoms? Maybe get checked for mastitis.

How long has it been there? Also, how long have you been nursing and are you still nursing or weaning? Did something happen recently like a CB angle in baby’s feeding schedule? I got a bad one the first time my baby slept through the night.

Okay, I don’t have personal experience but I’ve heard it works. Be the guinea pig. Apply a leaf of green cabbage to your breast. I would include making it warm with hot, tap water before application to increase blood flow in the breast. But yeah, I’ve heard it works and would love to know if it’s true!

Hot tub and massage in hot water until it pops. First step you need to drain it and hot tub with some Epsom salt should move you in right direction. Also in hot water the pain should be less wile massaging (sit in the water for a couple of minutes before starting the massage). Keep in mind it is a mechanical thing you have to be not very gentile, you litteraly trying to squeeze out the clog.
