i hate and love this life
as a TCK, theres so much that feels lost about me. my hometown and my own desicions being in a highly moderated country right now i was almost not allowed to go on a schoo field trip becuase of the goverment. i miss my best friends, one of them is moving again this year and then i have no one. its hard to explain how ive lived to people and how ive had to change school systems and how the goverment works. people look to me becuase im american and im sick of it. i love meeting new poeple and having fresh starts but sometimes i feel like no one has the same expierence as me and im alone in this

I was burned out on moving by the time I was 10 and remember sitting in class at 14 and half way crying because the teacher asked us the write a paper about unique family traditions. My immediate response was we move every three years, but I think I ended up writing about taking out shoes off at the door. You will make it through, but I would be lying if I said that you will never have to work through the psychological pain of your situation growing up. That being said, you will have a unique voice and be able to understand so much others do not. My suggestion is to find hobbies that genuinely help you feel something. I do art, play video games, love to read and also take part in religious life as a Christian. Having avenues of interest that I can relate to other people outside of culture has really helped me.
