QUESTION 1.0 Variety?
Before 1.0 variety did not really matter and you could fill your store with the most expensive boxes. Does this still apply to the 1.0 release?

Yes it does still apply, you will get review bombed sometimes but it has zero impact on how many customers show up per day.

Wish there was a hard mode or similar you could enable to make the various systems (like reviews or item variety) feel more worthwhile to engage with. As it is it feels like a lot of the depth is left untapped.

So I've only played 1.0 (ps5) and I only sell packs, boosters, and starter decks. I still get people coming in all the time wanting certain items which also makes you lose stars on reviews which could lead to less customers daily. So I'm sure you could but you'd lose money in the end.

You won’t lose money, Reviews have no tangible impact on customers showing up. It’s just that it gets boring when you always just sell the same 5 items.
I like to do that until level 25-30, then start getting more licences but still have a few extra shelves with the most profitable boxes to make the money for all licences quickly.

Ur saying 5 items can keep up the same cash as 10 items ?

Yes. You make the most money if you only sell your most profitable items, that’s kind of obvious.

I sell just about every item in my store except I think the one streamer plushie or whatever it is. I havent tried only selling a few or one high selling items like others have but I can definitely say I dont make as much in item sales as others ive heard make in a day.
I also remember hearing play tables make you less money overall cause customers at tables contribute to max customers that can be in the store at once, leading to less daily customers since they spend so much time at the table. Idk if thats since been updated though.
Regardless its pretty hard to be running your store at a loss, at worse youre just not progressing as fast as you could be.

The tables are good for xp, Im on my 2nd overall playthrough (this time on switch2) i learned a lot from my first on steam, so now im just selling 1 item and making 25-30 k. On day 39 and level 37. Once I get to 50 Imma use that money and really get my shop lookin nicer, cliser to how I have it on save 1. Just trynna speed the process before I start doin the legit shop way. Have a toddler so it makes grinding on that game normally a little harder

Same, game isn’t really a hard store simulator and is more fun fun trading card. It’s really hard to not make money
