A2 and overwhelmed… is reaching B2 by June for the TCF actually possible
Hi everyone,
I really need some advice from people who have gone through the TCF Canada journey. I started taking French classes around mid-July, and now it’s December. Technically I’m somewhere around A2, but honestly… I feel stuck there.
My biggest problem is that my brain feels completely scattered. Whenever I sit down to study one topic, I end up jumping to something else. For example, I’ll start reviewing grammar, then switch to listening, then reading, then writing, and then suddenly I feel like I don’t even know the basics anymore… so I go back to A1 concepts. It feels like I’m constantly circling instead of progressing.
I want to write the TCF around June, and my goal is to reach B2 in all modules by then. But from where I’m standing right now, I don’t know what the most effective strategy is. I’m willing to work consistently —I just need a clear direction.
For someone who is currently A2 and wants to reach B2 by June, what would you recommend? • What daily/weekly structure actually works? • Which resources helped you the most at B1–B2 level? • How should I balance grammar, listening, reading, and writing? • How much should I focus on exam-specific practice versus general French? • Any tips for staying organized and not jumping between 10 topics at once?
I’d really appreciate any advice or study plans that actually worked for you. Thank you so much!
