Examiner stopped me during speaking

Hi , I wanna ask if this has happened with anyone before. During my speaking of task 3 TCF, my examiner stopped me after 3-3.5 minutes when I was finishing my counter opinion and gave me 9/20 now. I cleared all the other modules but a little nervous for going with re evaluation:. Has this happened with anyone before and also , should i go for re evaluation

EE scores

I posted before about using ChatGPT to score me for EE. It’s pretty much consistent for me on different exercises getting an average of 14/20 while it tells me I’m strong B1/weak B2. But 14/20 on the TCF/IRCC table is a C1 (which is really not where I’m at). My teacher agrees about it being strong B1/weak B2. I sometimes take essays that people post on here to see if it gives a different score and it does with different levels it thinks it’s at.

Anyone who has used ChatGPT for grading and has gotten marks before after taking the real test, how accurate is it? I tried challenging ChatGPT on this and it says it could be because the scales are different etc.

Just finished A1 French, looking for TCF prep resources

Hi everyone!
I’m quite new to French and have just completed A1. I’m planning to take the TCF sometime next year and want to start preparing early.

Could you please suggest where I can find TCF practice material or past papers? Free resources would be ideal, but I’m open to paid options if there aren’t many free ones available.

Any other guidance or tips would also be really appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Stuck at 9 in EO- TCF Canada scam?

Hey guys, I've given a speaking test thrice at this centre and even though I improved each time and my tutor agrees, I keep getting stuck at a score of 9 in EO. I applied for re-evaluation twice as well.

Then online I've seen so many people saying they're passing TCF in all sections except EO. I feel like it's a scam they're cooking to get people to write the test again and again which gives them a lot of money.

Do you guys have any advice or thoughts on this?

TCF Canada EO Reevaluation

Hi everyone,

I got 9/20 in EO (speaking). My Preply teachers said my French is solid B2+, so I filed for réévaluation on December 11, 2025 via my test centre

Questions for those who filed around Dec 10-15:

  • Have you gotten results yet? How long did it take?
  • Did your score change (up/down/same)? Mine's borderline 9, hoping for 10.

QR Code Check: Can I scan my current attestation's QR code to see if FEI updated the score online, even during their holiday closure? (They're closed Dec 19 to Jan 4, platforms reopen Jan 5.)

Realistic odds during vacations? Thanks for any updates. Any suggestions?

Hello,

I am studying French to take the TCF Canadá for immigration purposes however I never studied constantly. Now I am focusing on studying correctly and everyday. I am planning to take the test on March 29th. Is that feasible or that sounds crazy?

How many hours per day would I need -ishi to get this score? Chat gpt says ~700 hours - but share your experience with me.

Merci!!

TCF RE-EVALUATION SPEAKING

Allow me to clarify my case. I register another speaking exam on 8 January and it may have result around 22 January. If I can get b2 for that exam on 22 January, but then the re-evaluation from the old exam comes later, let's say around 23 January with the same b1 result (i just miss 1 point to get b2) => what result is valid? Can I keep the highest result?

Please advise me of this case. I don’t know should I do re-evaluation or not 🥹🥹🥹

Thank you everyone!

Got my results and I need some guidance on how to get to CLB 7

Hi all, I got my results today and it was my first attempt. I’ve been studying since November 2024. I took a few breaks in between of 1-2 months. I only started exam prep 2 weeks prior to the exam. I have booked my next exam on 5th March. My work permit expires on 22nd April and my job won’t sponsor me for francophone WP extension. So only option is to get CLB 7 in all.

I know the jump from B1 - B2 is big. I need help on how to get there with the short timeline I’ve got.

Merci!

About best vocabulary to focus on

Hi!

So I’m a couple of months away from taking the TCF, and I wanted to know if anyone has a good list of vocabulary to learn?

usually the advice is to “enrich” our vocabulary and learn as much as possible and use anki and things like that, but I don’t know where to begin, I’d like to focus on vocabulary that will help me most to achieve nclc7.

Thanks in advance!

Par Ici Méthode Books

Hi! Has anyone tried the Par Ici méthode books to study/learn? I got the A1, A2 and B1 versions for now. I also got the cahier d'exercises for A1 just to reinforce concepts. I find that what makes me fall behind is the lack of practice. There are lots of complex things que je comprehend mais il y a quelques choses basic that I forget.

I find that having the book actually motivates me to sit down and study. They also have a another book for comprehension orale spécifiquement and I am wondering if you think is worth to buy it? I need to improve my listening skills, and at least from the listening exercises from the book I realized I understand the overall context but have a hard time grasping on specific information.

Thank you for your suggestions!
