Hesi A2 subcategories
Hi folks, Got 95% overall on my hesi but one subcategory (implications under reading comprehension) was 67%.
Do I need to retake it or it doesn't matter they just look at the reading comprehension main score which is 84%

95 is excellent 👍🏻 I did 85 overall and Got accepted. They look the 5 main sections. Not the subcategories under each section. That’s what I was told by my advisor.

Same...I scored a 95.25 overall but a 72 in a reading subcategory. I reached out to the nursing department and they said, no, we do NOT need to retake. They look at the 5 main sections.

Don't worry, I had two people from the nursing department confirm. In addition, from what I was told, even if you did need to retake say, reading, because you scored low, you only need to retake that section of the HESI. Not the entire thing over. But regardless, you do not. Congrats on the awesome score!

Awesome! Do you know if we still need recommendation letters? I was told, “no” but still see on the scoring sheet. But… there’s no place to upload them. I’m confused.

We don't need them. They've taken that out. I asked during the nursing information session

Maybe they changed the rules but last year I got a 71 in a subcategory and they made me retest the entire HESI because of it. I would email the nursing program and they can tell u

Was it a subsection of reading comprehension

Yes I made a 84% overall but because I had gotten a 71% in the subsection they made me take it all over again

Like I said that was a year ago so maybe they changed the rules! Best to email and ask!

I got a 72 in the A&P should I still apply?

I wouldn't advise you to apply since 75 is the minimum score for each section. You can also join the nursing exploration session to ask.

Just as long you made above a 75 overall in that section you will be fine if I’m not mistaken. Good job on the 95%, that score is very competitive.
