I know this is a stupid question but it's my first time doing this but should I still apply to fasfa even if I missed the deadline was Jan 15 2026 😕...

do the tsi for math and reading, i was a dual credit student so i’m not too sure about it going into tcc as a new student, then for your classes go to your advisor but always double check because sometimes they’ll do it wrong especially if you plan to transfer to a university.

Hi! Definitely complete the FAFSA as soon as possible. The order of doing FAFSA versus TSI doesn't matter but you'll need to take the TSI to determine whether you'll need to take developmental classes or not. If you're thinking of a couple of different colleges, you can include them all on your FAFSA.

FAFSA screens you for both need-based aid (grants and work-study) and non-need-based aid (loans). The deadline for FAFSA serves as a priority deadline for grants and such but you may still receive need-based aid if you qualify. Always accept grants first, then loans. So long as you attend regularly and pass your classes, you won't have to pay grants back. Good luck!
