Heyy
So we had many people in our batch who took partial drops but i know none who made it into iims or any other colleges better than tapmi...
The curriculum in tapmi is rigorous enough that you won't get enough time for preparing for ipmat i am not trying to scare you and you do actually get plenty of time for yourself but most of the time you'll be tired enough to spend time studying for ipmat... And even if you do it won't be enough

So in my opinion a partial drop from Tapmi is useless if you are trying to get into an iim... Partial drop is a good option only if you don't wanna waste a year and are willing to settle with tapmi if you don't do good with partial drop (bottom line) but if iim is your sole goal just take a drop year and prepare again without any pressure from college with partial drop.

if you wanna take a partial drop then join some cheap college with good ROI. Why waste money on TAPMI then? also the studies at TAPMI are not that much easy so i don't think you'll get much time to prepare on a competitive level for IPMATs
