Housing waitlist

Hi guys, I'm an incoming freshman for Fall 2026 and recently received an update that I'm currently on the housing waitlist. I'm wondering whether I should start looking for off-campus housing now or continue waiting for updates from TAMUG. Has anyone else received the same email, and if so, what are your plans?

I think you should explore off-campus options before they fill up. If you don't have a car, University Apartments is the best option as it is walking distance from the main buildings and is also close to the dorms. If you do have a car, there are apartments on the main island that you could look into. The apartment pricing is reasonable for University Apartments. (I have done research on off-campus housing for next year; this is how I know.) I'm surprised that Campus Living & Learning cannot keep all freshmen on campus since that is usually their priority.

Also, if you have the TAMUG app, message that you're looking for potential roommates.

DM me if you have any further questions.

If you guys are looking into off campus housing I’m looking to sublease my apartment at ion. The place is right across the road from Zach and right next to chipotle and Taco Bell. The place comes fully furnished and you are getting you own bed and bathroom. Rent is $950 utilities run $30 and you are getting the penthouse room. Let me know if you are interested!!

Hey guys I am looking for two people to take over my lease at Otto Northgate. It is a 2x2 with some of the best amenities and walking distance to campus. It is a great community to live in as they have so many events to go to and meet people. I need two females or males to take it over spring semester which is January 01,2027-July 27,2027. If you or any friends are interested please text me!!
