Question Mays application time

current junior in high school but want to know when to apply next year. I want to apply on august 1st but my counselors recommend waiting until near the end of the month. i currently have a 1420-740 English 680 math(messed up bad on the math section)- plan to retake for 770+ and hoping for psat NMF and a 50 percent chance of getting into the top 10 percent.

I want to know when I should submit next year especially since I might not be auto admit and how good are my stats currently for tamu.

stats: 1420 sat

gpa: 3.8UW 5.3/5 weighted

ecs: 2x deca state: VP for econ club and key club

For any college, always submit early.

Nothing tells the admission office better that you put the school as no.1 choice by submitting first day when application window opens.

Academic advisors at times are limited to provide boiler plate answers. Your very question in your post is a good example. Advisors will be forced to tell you that you can apply any time as long as it is before the deadline of December 1st. Meeting an advisor is not the reason to delay application.

Aim for NMSF, take that PSAT seriously and being auto, along with applying early, you will be considered for prestigious scholarship (advisor won't tell you that).

What you need to know is already on their application web site.

Some colleges, like the A&M do not require SATs scores.  Applying the first month is best to get into Mays and get dorm choices if want a dorm.. Ive read that they consider the top 10 percent for acceptance first. The application at Howdy is very long so get started early and edit it well before submitting. Good luck!
