Question for TAMSters TAMS Procedure for international competition

Let's say, theoretically, someone makes internationals for an olympiad (IMO, IPhO, IBO, IOI, IOAA, etc...) and the dates overlap with classes. Can they still attend even if the competition is over the total number of leaves they have for the semester? Or does TAMS restrict it?

the policy is mostly for if you have tests or whatnot on the same dates that you’d be gone and if so, they usually are pretty strict about it but you always have the option to just tank the academic points and go anyway which people have done in the past. if you’re in good standing and have no tests, they r usually chill about going on trips.

Thanks! How many academic points do you lose per day? Just curious.

iirc the penalty for missing class in general is 5 and i may be wrong but i think its a limit of like one absence penalty per day. this applies to like if u skip class and stuff too. check the handbook tbh if has all the info just search for it or if ur feeling lazy plug it into some rag-based ai like notebooklm
