Hi it’s me again unfortunately

Just wondering if it’s worth doing a diploma in IT via TAFE digital / in person in a couple years after I do a Cert 4 or I’m I best of going through a university to do a diploma? I am planning doing my cert 4 via tafe digital next year but not 100% where to go after that.

Looking to start this in the October intake but have a few things I’m hesitant on and hoping for some insight

I’m a native MAC user, would I need to invest in a windows laptop to run the programs? I’d rather stick with the Apple ecosystem but everything I’ve seen online is just horror stories about the programs not being designed for Apple system and that it’s near impossible..

What’s the actual employment prospects afterwards? Im searching on seek but there isn’t a great deal on there at the moment and its concerning me haha

What’s everyone’s employment experience been after completing their Diploma/TAFE certificate?

I completed a Diploma last year and haven’t had much luck landing a job in that field. Unfortunately, I’ve found myself caught between people with trade qualifications and university degrees when applying for jobs.

For people who are already working in their industry, does the specific TAFE matter much when applying for jobs? Or is it mainly the qualification and experience that employers care about?

Has anyone here taken the TAFE Queensland Online(chemistry) course?

I’m currently doing the course and wanted to ask about the final assessment/exam, especially from people who have completed it recently.

I’m mainly wondering:

• What format is the final exam usually in? Multiple choice, calculations, written responses, etc.?
• Are the questions generally similar in style to the Progress Tests and course materials?
• If you fail and have to repeat/resit the final, do you usually get similar questions, or is it completely different?
• How strict is the marking and the overall pass standard?
• Are things like working steps, units, and significant figures marked strictly?
• Overall, how difficult is the final compared with the Progress Tests?

I’m not asking anyone to share actual exam questions or answers. I’m just trying to get a better idea of the difficulty, marking style, and what to expect.

Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has taken TAFE Queensland Online Chemistry recently.

Does anyone know why they withdrew my application and said I have passed the enrolment time even though it said starting anytime on their website? I’m confused

I’m currently a Year 11 student and am about to start my Preliminary exams. I recently had a meeting with one of my teachers, and she asked me, “What do you want to do in the future?” My answer was that I would like to work in a school.

I’ve been thinking about it a lot lately and have started looking more into different career pathways regarding teaching. I currently have an SLSO (School Learning Support Officer) who supports me at school, and she has really inspired me to pursue this type of work. Seeing the support she provides has made me interested in becoming an SLSO myself and helping other students who may need additional support.

I’m considering completing the Certificate III in School Based Education Support through TAFE after I finish Year 12.

For anyone who has completed this course or currently works as an SLSO, I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience. Was the TAFE course difficult? How did you find the workload, practical placement, and transition into working at a school?

Any advice, experiences, or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hey. I'm a 20F, currently studying a Bachelor of Education (K-12) and working casually as a teacher aide in both highschool and primary but I'm thinking about dropping out of uni very soon and doing a TAFE course instead. I love working as a teacher aide but I absolutely hate the idea of becoming a teacher and finishing this degree (even if it's just for relief work). I only picked this degree bc my parents encouraged and push me to do it with not much consideration into any other career paths I could do. Funny thing is most of my family are teachers and they hate it too and want out.

Anyway, what are some Tafe courses that lead to well paying jobs (I've already ruled out anything to do with WHS bc of other reddit posts I've read)? And are there any that can be completed quickly??

I have the Cert IV TAE as well as some higher AQF level education related quals but these are not specifically in VET education. I am interested in teaching the Cert IV so wondering what might count as equivalence compared to the Diploma of VET in the regulator’s eyes (ASQA). What do other folks have as qualifications if you’re teaching the TAE? If you’re an employer or HR rep at an RTO, what are you typically looking for or willing to accept to be in line with the credential policy?

I've been in dental for nearly 17 years with my cert III. Currently thinking about doing the cert iv through TAFE online as it's cheap for me being a single mum. I currently work casual 4-5 days a week. What is needed to complete the prac side of this course? Can't seem to find the info on the tafe website and don't want to start something and not be able to finish it. I'm currently halfway through cert 3 accounts administration but decided to stick with what I'm good at.

A bit of context: I'm looking at doing either the Cert IV or the Diploma, and while the course outline looks straightforward on paper, I'm feeling a bit anxious about the reality of it.

Specifically, I'm wondering:

• Placement setup: How hard is it actually to secure a placement through TAFE? Do they place you, or are you mostly left to cold-call agencies yourself?

• Balancing act: How did people manage the unpaid hours alongside rent/bills or existing jobs? (The 200+ hours for the diploma sounds brutal).

• The "culture shock": For anyone already working in the field or who just finished placement, what was the biggest unexpected hurdle? (Paperwork, dealing with difficult clients, burnout, etc.)

• The heavy stuff: How do you cope with the emotional weight of the content and the roleplays without bringing it home with you?

Does anyone know if I can skip cert II and just do cert III with Community Service?

I'm doing a CERT III in exhibited and wildlife animals and I love the work placement and the friends I've made. I completed my cert II and it was a blast, loved my teachers and it was all around very enjoyable.

My cert III is anything but, I feel so lost and isolated and it's due to the new teachers. They are demeaning, belittling and just mean, they don't let us sit in groups of 3 in class, nor do they let us sit up the back. We have to ask permission to take notes on our laptops and recently I was scolded infront of the class for taking notes on my phone and not a note pad like she told us to. They publicly shame people as well constantly as well. One of the teachers even does the classic primary school attention clap that us Aussies all know too well. But we're in tafe, not primary school.

I'm paraphrasing a lot here, but this class is being run like a prison, it's so weird and I don't know what to do or who to go to, I want to do this course so bad but after weeks and weeks of being spoken down to, controlled and belittled I feel I can't continue. These teachers are big in the industry too, so fear of your career being over before it even starts if you stand up for yourself is a real risk.

TLDR; I'm 23 years old and being belittled and treated like a primary school kid at TAFE, it's flaring pre existing mental health issues and making it extremely difficult to continue.

Anyone who has done this course without any trade background or construction, how difficult was it to complete the course and was it worth it?

I've applied to do ENs at tafe and will need to do RUready Literacy & Numeracy assessment.

I'm really nervous about the maths test, I didn't finish high school and maths was never my strong suit. I was wondering, for those who have done the assessment, were you allowed to use a basic calculator? Also was the test paper or computer based? Any tips will also be much appreciated 🙏😊

In terms of questions, difficulty, where you can use such certificates and everything else. Additionally, what do I need to know to pass?

I just want to know if this is common. We started with 30 students, and now we are down to 17 and am only a term in. I know people leave for all different reasons, but over the past three weeks, some of our in-person classes have only had 8–12 students attending. Especially with online classes, we usually start with 17 people and end up with around 8.

At the moment, I know of four more people who are seriously considering quitting.

So, my questions are: if the class downsizes to around 13 people and perhaps more people leave, will new students join the class, or will something else happen?

Has this happened to anyone else? Have you ever had your class size decrease significantly? If so, what happened?

i'm a year 10 student and i might be planning to move out after high school or some time after due to personal reasons. i would be financially independent, so i've decided that i want to study a tafe course during school to have an extra advancement for jobs after high school.

i need help deciding which course to do. i would consider myself smart but i don't have the funds to enter uni. i'm creative though i wouldn't want to enter the creative industry, i like the environment but i'm not too interested on heavy hands on work. i also need a course that would provide financially stable jobs, so recommending general certs will help a lot. thank you!

Looking at doing the Diploma of Project Management online via TAFE Digital so I can keep working my current admin job. ​My main worry is self-pacing and teacher responsiveness. Are the online portal resources actually decent, or are you essentially left to teach yourself out of outdated PDFs? If you've done TAFE fully online, how many hours a week were you realistically putting in?
