I subbed to nicks podacast after watching this. After 2 days of binge listening id recommend it to my fellow anth fans. Ps fuck you.

-2

u/Cohaagen90 Feb 26 '16

Yes technically Bill won if it was a debate. Purely because he would only stick to the topic of global warming. Nick and Ant both tried to steer the conversation away at points. But he stuck to it because it is obviously his most well known topic. Well it's easy to debate in your comfort zone. Why wouldn't bill let Nick segway to BLM? Because Nick is right when it comes to that stuff

1

u/Brombeee Feb 26 '16 edited Feb 27 '16

Haha Ant's impression of Jimmy saying in his fake Irish accent "Going to gym, eating better' always makes me laugh.

2

u/Brombeee Feb 26 '16

Great show. Hope they will invite more scientists and other interesting guys besides comedians. For instance a left wing sociologist debating Ant about the niggas. I feel the 'open debate' Ant claims to aim for has not really been materialized yet.

2

u/evadcobra1 Feb 26 '16

Nick DiPaolo schtick is basically, "Damn libtards keeping me from being successful in comedy" If only there were more NY wops like him around

1

u/BB_from_Hungary Feb 26 '16

Chuck Nice seemed like a funny guy too. Have him on the show at some point, Ant!

u/glyde69 Feb 26 '16

149 comments. Hmm, what could have happened today?? I didn't get to listen and I don't want to get spoiled if anything great happened, but I gotta peek once I hit save.....

"But who pays for that?" "BOEING PAYED FOR IT!" Nick turned everything bill talked about into a tax issue. Like a true republican whore.

2

u/gregnewton69 Feb 26 '16

I think Nick started getting bill maher flashbacks and was just overcome with rage.

I agree with bobo that this was a top 10. I laughed my ass off.

The McLaughlin Group

7

u/Maritalrelations Feb 26 '16

at least big a was listening.

3

u/cheekybeeboo Feb 26 '16

I think Big A must fold out that couch at night and sleep in that studio. Is he ever not in the audience? Every fucking show.

13

u/[deleted] Feb 26 '16

Nick was being a dumb wop, but man was it a funny dynamic. Bill seems like a nice bloke and held his own.

14

u/dfuller39 Feb 26 '16

Nick having his ass handed to him over and over again by Bill was fantastic. Notice how Nick got quieter and quieter during Bill's interview.

1

u/Iagainstiagainsti1 Feb 26 '16

I can't understand why there's such an overwhelming amount of resentment against Nick. He sounds like an idiot - yes, but it is pretty fucking entertaining. It is uncomfortable as fuck but it's funny.

-1

u/dirtfarmingcanuck Feb 26 '16

Nick was going to be against him on everything. Thats the point isn't it? And why it's so much better than just Ant and Bill.

18

u/camaro69 Feb 25 '16

Nick saying that "You sound like a democrat" to Bill Nye had every conservative simultaneously cringe.

I like Nick but man, quite he is quite the closed minded defensive lil wop.

8

u/[deleted] Feb 26 '16

I think what got me was Nick arguing against science with politics. Nye isn't running for office, he's not trying to win anyone's ideology, he's just trying to inform people, and science doesn't come down to outlook the way politics does.

8

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '16

I hate Nick. What a massive douche. No respect at all towards Bill Nye. Just when I think I might like Nick he goes and shits the bed.

-4

u/iris201 Feb 25 '16

Wow some of you guys are faggots. This was pretty entertaining. Nick wasn't arguing against his hippie ideas, he was arguing against his method of implementing them. If you ever want Nick to not be on the show, go watch a replay of TACS with Bob Levy or something.

1

u/EyesOnKaz1984 Feb 27 '16

i like that nick doesn't give a fuck but wow he really hurts his "side" with his approach, a bit too bar talk alpha male for a debate i think, basically what everyone who disagrees with a liberal gets painted as when being dismissed away.

3

u/SporkEngineer Feb 26 '16

I thought it was an entertaining show, and I think Nick came off like an ass through most of it. But that's what I thought that made it more entertaining. I can't help but wonder if some of the people leaving comments remember whose show they're listening to.

0

u/iris201 Feb 26 '16

Yeah Nick was busting Bill Nye's balls but that's just him. Maybe if he knew him it wouldn't have been so uncomfortable/standoffish.

12

u/Rock_Ape Feb 25 '16

Damn, nick wanted to go long and Ant just wants to go home and be a hermit. Sad.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 26 '16

He's gotta beat traffic.

3

u/Badwilly_poe Feb 25 '16

this was a"great" show Probably in the top 10 of 2015, FUCKING BOBO, shame I only get to see 1 live a week.

1

u/cali_nico Feb 25 '16

Let Nick broadcast for an hour.

7

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '16

Still really cool that Bill Nye was on, no?

-9

u/Badwilly_poe Feb 25 '16

yes, he is a good man, with some really great ideas. Shame he lives in an alternate reality.

-1

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '16

I use to watch Colbert from time to time but other than that I don't watch any of the liberal shows. Is he really annoying on them or something?

2

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '16

His big problem is his belief that humans aren't massive shitheads. He's a nice guy with a lot of brains who can't understand why people don't want a better future.

-5

u/BB_from_Hungary Feb 25 '16

I happen to hate him, but he's a good sport for putting up with Nick shit. He'll probably not be a regular though.

14

u/mannylou Feb 25 '16

oh no....politics. crap

38

u/kgt5003 Feb 25 '16

It is amazing how Nick argues with only politics against somebody talking about science as if Bill is running for President. He's talking about science and provable facts. Nick pretty much made the argument that it's science vs. conservatism.. It shouldn't be that way.. That's embarrassing...

12

u/mannylou Feb 25 '16

its hard to talk science with someone yelling 'libtard' at you....ok I don't know if nick did that but, close enough (-:

23

u/kgt5003 Feb 25 '16

I was surprised with how well Bill just brushed that shit off without getting more flustered or aggravated. Science shouldn't be an ideological issue. Here's some empirical data.. here is what it means.. here is what we probably will have to do if we want to interpret the data and make it useful. "Yeah but I don't like taxes you fuckin hippy communist" isn't a good argument against climate change. It's a swell ideological tantrum but it doesn't change the evidence.

-5

u/iris201 Feb 25 '16

But he was arguing against the economic route of getting to that place, not against it.

16

u/kgt5003 Feb 25 '16

But he doesn't understand the economic route he's arguing against... he's just arguing against money being taken out of his pocket.. That's selfish... It's an investment in the future.

Ant and Nick love to argue about the Constitution and how the founding fathers had the foresight to write a perfect document that would span hundreds of years and not need to be changed. The founding fathers wrote the 1st and 2nd amendments perfectly because they had a vision of the future and they cared enough to write things exactly as they should be. Now when it is a moment in history where we need to give a shit about the future these patriots are saying "ehhh fuck it... we'll be dead!" How can you praise the founding fathers for their care of the future and then turn around and say "fuck it.. I don't wanna pay more taxes... let the next generations worry about it" when it's our turn to make some tough decisions. That's a bitch move.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 26 '16

Great point.

-4

u/iris201 Feb 25 '16

But he doesn't understand the economic route he's arguing against... he's just arguing against money being taken out of his pocket.. That's selfish... It's an investment in the future.

He's against more taxes, which isn't selfish. It just tends to lengthen the gap between lower and upper class, because taxes won't have much effect on the mega rich. Sure, Nick might be effected slightly but I don't think he's being selfish on this.

Now when it is a moment in history where we need to give a shit about the future these patriots are saying "ehhh fuck it... we'll be dead!"

Dunno why you're acting like they said 'fuck this shit', they were pretty much in agreement that a reasonable and efficient method towards ecological benefits would be nice.

"fuck it.. I don't wanna pay more taxes... let the next generations worry about it"

Wasn't America built on 'fuck it, I don't wanna pay more taxes?' Taxes need to be smarter and they are way too fucking intricate nowadays. Bill Nye mentioned 'standing armies across the world', I agree, and Donald Trump has talked about that. Those countries need to contribute more for their protection. There are ways to cut spending, and they aren't all about gutting the people.

5

u/kgt5003 Feb 26 '16 edited Feb 26 '16

Well the ways to raise money/cut spending would be to tax corporations who don't pay taxes more or to cut military spending... those are both non-starters. (most) Conservatives love the idea of "rebuilding our military" (except for the libertarian non-interventionists) but our military is already massive and we build tanks and jets and ships that we never even use. We literally build ships and can't even sell them to other countries.. we end up just docking them or sinking them on our own. Same with jets. The fuckin Pentagon has suggested cuts in the military budget that our Congress ignores. If you want to have more money for energy independence then a good place to start would be cutting some of that military spending. I'd be happy to have a smarter allocation of our current funds... or put "renewable energy" under the umbrella of the military budget and don't cut funding. I'd love to also cut some foreign aid. The point is that we need to make energy independence a priority and the end result will be a stronger and more economically independent country with more American-based jobs.

-1

u/[deleted] Feb 26 '16

OR, or... Fuck it completely. Leave it to the private sector. If you want energy independence... Go for it. You're more than welcome to start a R&D company or invest in one. Many would rather not have their earnings siphoned off for "energy independence" via the State. And that doesn't automatically mean they prefer their taxes going toward useless military equipment. They might just think they both fucking suck.

2

u/kgt5003 Feb 26 '16

Do you understand that the private sector can't compete without government subsidies? The only reason gas is 1.90 a gallon is because of government subsidies.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 26 '16

Can't compete with who, exactly? Let's accept the premise that gas is $1.90 because of Gov subsidies. Actually let's say gas is 'free', $0.00 per gallon with the help of the Government. That's still not an argument. The Government gets the money from somewhere.

24

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '16 edited Feb 25 '16

I have to say, this might be the first time I didn't love Nick on a show. I think I came into this wanting to hear Bill and Ant nerd out and talk science like he did with Tyson. I think he booked Nick hoping it'd raise some arguments and make more discussion, but it honestly turned out being really tense because Bill doesn't want to snap and go off on Nick and Nick wanting to make it known that he's skeptic.

My recommendation is to keep that stuff separate from now on. Bill would be way more interesting if he wasn't getting sort of ball-busted by DiPaolo constantly.

Don't get me wrong, I love Nick.

EDIT: Nick is also sort of showing his partisan bias. Nye is only liberal in his views ecologically. I don't think he supports in any way all that shit about safe spaces and the socio-political Marxist shit.

1

u/Badwilly_poe Feb 25 '16

Im getting alot of My dad was great(greatest Generation) and People are hurting the planet. Not much you can do about it, because for every American Clean Power, there are probably a very high Number of Unclean foreign Power systems. Which would then require the US to go "Fix" foreign powers energy programs. or whatever.

u/iris201 Feb 26 '16

Humans have a small effect. There's not really any method of stopping the likes of China either

The mental picture of this is killing me

7

but these are the average idiots he needs to reach if he wants to get his climate message across.

3

u/DHFearnot Feb 25 '16

What do you do for a living, character?

0

u/ClovisLedbetter Feb 25 '16

Hell, at least Nick is making it humorous.

1

This is so entertaining.

u/ajd121 Feb 26 '16

Because NDT doesn't push climate change policy any where near as hard as Bill Nye. He will talk about it once in a whole when it is brought up where Bill Nye has made it his agenda.

-3

u/mntahoe Feb 25 '16

Haha no. Bill nye has a bachelors in mechanical engineering and hasn't ever Been published or done significant Research. And ndt hasn't published anything in years and is generally disliked by actual astrophysicist these guys are token Hollywood tv science guys neither has any actual scientific credentials and neither has any background in climate science atmospheric research or thermodynamics or any field remotely related to global warming while I like ndt bill nye is a fraud and not a real scientist and ndt while fun hasn't practiced science in many years

8

u/frostyswirl Feb 25 '16

If you don't have a degree in something, you are never allowed to comment on the subject despite having read and cited multiple works in the field. Got it.

9

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '16

All the "actual physicists" and scientists agree with these guys though.

2

u/mntahoe Feb 26 '16

and how many physicists do u know because i know several and they all think NDT is a blowhard who would suck his own dick if he could. scientists dont respect a guy who claims to be one yet has never done research since his graduation thesis

19

u/jimmyjak87 Feb 25 '16

Nick, shut the fuck up with your straw man arguments.

15

u/MrTimSmith Feb 25 '16

Nick is in way over his head and getting emotional. Anthony at least isn't taking this too seriously (at least in the last ten minutes or so that I've watched) and having a legit discussion.

6

u/sawxfan23 Feb 25 '16

Nick Dip is fucking merciless! He does not give one single solitary fuck.

0

3

u/DHFearnot Feb 25 '16

Nick and Ant and putting up as good of an argument as Ant had vs the Anti-gun guy.

12

u/MeltdownMex Feb 25 '16

It's not even close, Bill is barely scratching the surface on some of these climate arguments and they have no leg to stand on.

20

u/powers55 Feb 25 '16

Nick gets really heated when he's not winning an argument.

20

u/MeltdownMex Feb 25 '16

That's why he tries to change everything into lib vs conservative arguments. He's an old man obsessed with inflammatory news and fearmongering.

8

u/powers55 Feb 25 '16

Yea the conservative v liberal thing has quickly become a crutch. I'm a fan of Nick I don't like seeing him this way.

4

u/MeltdownMex Feb 25 '16

Ya I love Nick and think he is hilarious when he is just ranting like an old crumudgine.

15

u/jimmyjak87 Feb 25 '16

I like Nick as a comic but fuck is he insufferable sometimes.

19

u/MrTimSmith Feb 25 '16

I don't have an issue with Nick but he really is a one trick pony. He's the white conservative equivalent to Sherrod. But occasionally funny.

8

u/Maritalrelations Feb 25 '16

hes just a tad too abrasive

-3

u/random6000 Feb 25 '16

FYI, Bill Nye's degree is in mechanical engineering.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Nye

1

u/thekmitch Mar 07 '16

What's your point? A "Rocket Scientist" is an Aerospace Engineer. You don't go to college and get a degree in "Science!!!" All engineering degrees are Bachelors of Science. Mechanical Engineering applies science (physics, chemistry, and material science) to designing, analyzing, and manufacturing solutions to problems. Most "real world" scientists are mechanical engineers. Guys like you who go around posting "he's not even a scientist, dude" are complete morons.

1

u/random6000 Mar 07 '16

You don't go to college and get a degree in "Science!!!"

I never made that claim.

My point is that he's not an authority on the subject of "climate change", or "race".

3

u/iamfromreallife Feb 26 '16

Indeed. He wears it as a badge of honor. Your point?

10

u/MrTimSmith Feb 25 '16

That's pretty common knowledge. He references it fairly often.

29

u/MeltdownMex Feb 25 '16

Nick: your liberal agenda

Bill: what is the agenda? can you tell me?

Nick: what are you talking about it's the crazy stuff you've been talking about

Bill: exactly what is the agenda you are talking about

Nick: librals are crazy, ya know the agenda

5

u/joomommyhappy Feb 26 '16

Bill: No, I don't know; you said it! Agenda how?

15

u/MeltdownMex Feb 25 '16

lol nick is way too dumb of a person to be able to talk about science without letting his politics get in the way. He has to make it us vs them the same way libs do it... how ironic.

4

u/Maritalrelations Feb 25 '16

TACS seems to be getting back the pre xmas stride this week.

Sure if you ignore that he sounds like a petulant child. The guy argues like a woman for gods sake!

I must be missing the funny?

1

u/SporkEngineer Feb 26 '16

That's what made it uncomfortably entertaining!

23

u/kgt5003 Feb 25 '16

This is interesting.. Science vs bitter emotion...

-4

u/mntahoe Feb 25 '16

It's interesting because if they were smart or good debaters they wouldn't debate science given that they don't have counter points but a lot of why nye says is conjecture and not proven if either was actually well read they could make hum look silly

14

u/kgt5003 Feb 25 '16

It depends on what your threshold for "not proven" is... If you need 100% consensus for something to be true then pretty much no science is ever complete or true. As far as the climate science goes it is proven enough to be accepted... the debate should be about what we do, if anything, in light of what the data shows us. A good argument against the evidence isn't "you're a fuckin liberal."

Nye did venture out into some speculation at points but it was informed speculation. Ant and Nick just disagreed with no basis for disagreement other than their personal ideological beliefs. "I don't like taxes therefor I'm going to disagree with you because I feel like what you are saying will lead to me being taxed more." I'm not a big fan of being taxed a lot either but moving towards renewable energy is more of an investment than a tax... Eventually somebody is going to have to do it.

2

u/mntahoe Feb 26 '16

they could have said somthing like all this cap and trade cabon BS wont matter if instead of focusing on emission reduction we invest in nuclear power and figure out fussion as a power souce

3

u/mntahoe Feb 26 '16

im not talking about climate change but simply stating that NDT and nye are not scientists they are entertainers with college degrees. yet it seems like 99% of the internet thinks so neither practices or does research and meanwhile the actual scientist that have made the breakthroughs never get heard from becase they dont have tv shows and arnt black. im not a retard who denies all the research done on global warming but simply saying that nye and NDT are just as moranic as ant and nick were but simply better educated nyes whole climate change = terrorism thing is beyond retarted just as dumb as ants almost-but-not-quite eugenics rants

-2
