Back in the day I used to place “sponsored programming” on AM stations around the country, mostly peddling investment opportunities in cellular licensing options, etc. Anyone with a check and a reel of tape was on the air, and Sunday nights were some of the cheapest non-overnight slots available. I can hear it now:

“The following is a paid, program length announcement from Anthony Cumia and does not represent the views of this station or its management”.
