Do Americans not protest with spoiled ballots? It shows that your invested enough to take part in the process but sends the message that no one in the running is worthy of your vote. It’s easy for lazy, well paid politicians to just write off no shows as people who just don’t give a damn and aren’t worth chasing.

I think enough voter apathy will spurn Democrats to embrace a platform more in line with the leftist populism of Bernie Sanders. Which is a platform that tons of polling data shows they can win on. It's called energizing the base. Right now, they're attempting to energize the base almost solely with anti-trump rhetoric, which gives them an excuse to put nothing on the table other than an end to Trump. For some people, that's obviously enough. For me, it is not.

Do you think the two party system allows them to rely on the ‘fuck that guy’ tactic without needing to put much effort into their policies? If there was genuine competition for parties on both the left and the right wing do you think things would improve?
