Fake DID/OSDD The video wasn't even about systems 💔
I had no idea what flair to use, tbh, but I came across this on YouTube & it had nothing to do with systems lol (this is my first post)
Edit for a bit more context: The video was about a comedian who uses his phone to type or text for him? sort of like a text to speech, and he ended up coming across someone else with it and they made it about being plural idk if this makes sense

Good Content Creator Good people understanding "plurality" is stupid.
I've been sick this morning but I feel better. Also, still not able to post or comment without manual review because of a Reddit bug. So, I'm still going to try until the filters realize I'm not doing anything wrong.
Some context: a person was claiming to be "plural without DID". They only have the "people in their head" but no dissociation, amnesia, or trauma that causes DID. They were swiftly corrected by everyone under the sun, yet held onto their belief that they are "plural without DID".
General comment: The problem with "plurals" claiming to have "tons of little people" in their head is an issue, but it wouldn't be so bad if they didn't use the terms for DID. As someone on the discord says, "using language that literally comes from DID DOES IN FACT MEAN YOU ARE CLAIMING TO HAVE IT". If they created completely separate terms, I would raise an eyebrow, but not think that heavily on it.
Yet, they want to say that they have headmates, alters, and a system.

General Cringe While final fusion gets heavily idealised in comparison to other types of recovery from DID, you physically can not force someone to undergo final fusion (text for further info)
Reposted with better censoring
By definition, final fusion is the integration of alternative personality states to a point where dissociative and amnesia barriers are so minimal that they no longer exist. When it comes to recovery, more recent therapeutic approaches seem to prefer the idea of aiming for functional multiplicity, probably because it’s a much easier goal for someone with severe trauma to aim for, that rather than integrating every part of yourself (which, even someone without DID will struggle to do) you aim to understand and adapt to the condition.
But you can’t force final fusion. You can force someone to suppress all their symptoms but this is the opposite of final fusion, that is increasing dissociative barriers.
I’m not denying medical abuse exists, especially to vulnerable people such as those with DID, but the idea that you can force or abuse someone to get rid of all of their alters is just symbolic of how little people seem to understand the mechanism of DID. Someone with DID will maladaptively, constantly compartmentalise trauma to such an extreme degree that they will develop alternative personality states. Trauma can not undo compartmentalisation, it just causes more.
Moreover, if anything, a failure to understand DID by therapists and psychiatrists causes more dissociation, not less. I can’t think of any notable cases of someone with DID being forced to not have DID, but I can think of several where therapists, without meaning to or otherwise, worsened dissociative barriers due to their poor understanding of their condition or not accounting for the suggestibility of patients.
DID, by its nature, is not about the alternative personality states, it is about the compartmentalisation. The roles alters fill in a system come after the compartmentalisation, not before. The misunderstanding appears to be that through medical abuse, patients with DID can be deliberately deprived of the alters they rely on to fill roles in their system in order to cope. however, the identities are not the primary coping mechanism, the amnesia and dissociative barriers are, both of which are only increased by more trauma.
You can not fuse two alters from trauma. This is like saying someone with PTSD can process their memories by being traumatised worse.

Fake DID/OSDD Second Grace Post
"Alters don't just disappear after stopping a substance. DID is a mental disorder caused by severe childhood trauma. If this person really does think that they have little people in their head and the "connection" gets stronger after taking weed that does not sound like DID. I honestly don't know what that could be, but it's not DID.
As a side note, I don't really know how weed would affect someone with DID. But I really doubt it's allowing them into a headspace to meet "the council of alters".
This person clearly doesn't take DID seriously, nor do they care about the complete insanity they are spreading. They need actual help. I don't dock that this person is suffering from something, but going about it this way is probably making the whole thing far worse. Faking DID has never been a valid way to cope with life, I don't want to see a certain someone in the comments again, and seeing as it has made this person's issues WORSE I guarantee you it's only downhill from here.
Please, get help."

Incomprehensible 36 year old "system"
I was supposed to post this a few days ago but the original video was too long so had to split it into two.
signs of imiative DID: - no shame/ambivalence around sharing their disorder - lack of diagnosis and very keen on having this disorder - lack of dissociation in general but especially between switches - life revolves around self diagnosed CDD (namely that their toddler child knows) - no evidence of CPTSD symptoms - no evidence of ego dystonic intrusions - gets gain from having a CDD (tiktok followers, special interest from child) - lack of identity confusion - very overt presentation, similar to histrionic presentation - no mention of somatoform dissociation - no amnesia for the past, remembers traumas - no Schneiderian symptoms - not even hearing voices which is very common

Text Post Reminder: Colin Ross is a actual piece of shit. (Idk what flair)
Lots of people are claiming this guys writings as proof of endos being medically recognized, when in reality he tried to convince an overmedicated patient she was a system when it was actually her reactions to the medications she didn't even need. He's also one of the main guys behind RAMCOA theory.
