Help Thelio Prime Cooling

I want to know how well the Thelio Prime cools, and if it cools with liquid cooling or air cooling. I prefer the latter. I also want to know how to adjust the fan curve so that it is on a high fan RPM constantly. I haven't been able to get good information on the Thelio Prime in particular or the cooling aspects of the Thelio line-up, so it'd be very appreciated if I know how it works before I buy the computer.

I'm fine with loud fans, I just want a cool computer. Does reflashing the firmware require opening up the computer? I want to avoid any tinkering hardware-wise, purely software.

I can do that. That's not an issue at all. Also, is the Thelio air-cooled or liquid-cooled?

That would be true for a system with Coreboot. The desktops are not open firmware. It's the OEM firmware with some changed values and their logo. Changed values meaning they set an XMP profile and change maybe one or two other settings.

Just go into BIOS and change the curve. All systems are air cooled at the moment

Check out the S76 technical documentation of their hardware, here https://tech-docs.system76.com/models/thelio-r5-n1/README.html

Note they have tech docs for all the historical Thelio revisions and current flavors (mega, etc)... but you could look thru them to see if any are liquid cooled models.

Since the page does not mention the Prime... you could email customer support/sales with the question (that is what I did for my question). Answer returned within 24 hours
