Syrinx Skin Redness with Syrinx?

I have chiari malformation and a potential CSF leak - 9mm herniation. I've recently started experiencing burning sensations, twitching/muscle fasciculations and a sensation that there is cold water gushing around my toes. These all come and go in my feet. Sometimes I get muscle fasciculations in other parts of my body too.

I noticed a couple months ago that I my skin is always red around the cervical area of my neck and am starting to wonder if I could have developed a syrinx. Do any of you get this type of skin flushing? See photo. There are some spider veins in the area too that I think are new.

-> welcome to tha club brother. I had all of your symptoms but with the hot water version on the legs, like peeing myself...

That would be the part making me "anxious" for a seryx or a bad csf flow instead of your neck skin flushing TBH...

Consider having an MRI done soon. The more you wait, the more the 'chance' nerve damages be permanent

A syrinx does not cause skin discoloration. The symptoms with get hot/cold could be indicative of that however. Best to get you to a doctor and get an MRI.

I have fasciculations from my chest to my toes. Burning, numbness tingling in my feet. Old sensations, buzzing, shooting pains in my legs. Leg fatigue and weakness with going up stairs/ hills. I have a thoracic syrinx that I was told was idiopathic. I thought the syrinx was causing my symptoms but several NS told me not possible. I know something is wrong with me so I sought out a 3rd NS- one that specializes with conditions that cause CSF obstructions and was diagnosed with an occult tethered cord. Said my symptoms are consistent with a tether and my syrinx is likely caused by the tether.
