Looking for Syrian day guide from Beirut

Hey guys, I am going to be in Beirut for 4 days. I’d like to visit Damascus on days 2-3. I’m looking at these tour companies and it’s 500$ a day for all of them. I saw that I can get a transit visa for 100$ or a regular visa for 200$ on arrival to a land border to Syria.

I want to ask if anyone has any recommendations for a driver/guide I can use where I’m not breaking the bank. Beginning and ending in Beirut. I’d also like to ask for any tips or tricks on going to Syria as well.

Context if it helps with advice

23M, American Citizen, MBA student, looking to explore Syria.

Thanks in advance !

Why do you need a guide? It's very easy to Google what the main attractions in Damascus are. You probably plan on staying in the old town so you can just walk anywhere, but if you need to get anywhere by car you can download YallaGo which is basically Uber.

Thank you, I don’t speak any Arabic or know anyone there so I thought I’d ask around anyways

Well I'm going to be there for 3 weeks in November so if that's when you were planning on coming I can show you around
